0.25 l bottle from De Bierkoning, best before 6/7/2016. Clear, deep red with a thin, frothy, quickly diminishing, tan head. Minimally funky, sourish-fruity aroma of cherries, red wine, oak and mild vinegar. Sourish-fruity taste of cherries, red wine, oak and mild vinegar, followed by short, medium tart and slightly oaky finish. Thin to medium body, slightly astringent and light effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Not as complex and wild as the Grand Cru and also a bit sweeter. The acidity is rather reserved and just enough to give the beer a kick. Nevertheless very refreshing and enjoyable.

330 ml. bottle. BBD 12/02/2015. Pours a medium, well retained beige head, with minimal lacing, over a copper brown (SRM 20) body......nose is lightly sour, with balsamic hints, light vinous fruit notes, no hops....taste is lightly sour, with mild vinous notes, hints of sour fruits including cherry, ending with light tartness, no hops.....mouth feel, light of medium body, no alcohol, moderate carbonation, with light acid. This is a mild Sour that is very soft. The beer is quite pleasant and an easy drinker, but more sourness would be welcome as would a bit more malt presence. BJCP 8/3/14/4/7

Ruby, petite carbo, fin collet, petite dentelle. Aromes légèrement aigre et boisé, fruits rouges L’acidité ne domine pas du tout mais est toutefois présente. La finale est longue et bien agréable sur les fruits rouges un peu aigres.

A 330ml bottle with a best before date of 3rd October 2015 and poured into a Duvel tulip glass. It poured a dark reddish brown colour with a thin tanned head (although on my second bottle, an extremely aggressive pour gave me a one finger head) that leaves plenty of stringy lacing. There was nice strong tart cherry and grape aromas with hints of vinegar and oak. Taste was tart cherry with hints of vinegar and grape bubblegum. Dry, light to medium bodied with medium carbonation. This was the most basic of the Rodenbach line, and overall, this was very good. It was very refreshing, nice on the palate and easy to drink.

Kolor: rubinowy, zmętniony.
Piana: niska, w miarę trwała.
Zapach: słodki aromat czerwonych owoców, delikatne nuty winne, szampańskie, lekka dzikość.
Smak: dość wytrawne, sporo nut czerwonych owoców, delikatna kwaśność, lekka taniniczność.
Wysycenie: lekko w kierunku wysokiego.

So ive come back to another slightly funky sour even though it’s really not my style, but this one is actually a great easy sour beer. Looks like american coffee. Definitely red wine with carbonation and a faint vinegary kick at the end. Refreshing and a pleasant surprise.

Reddish brown color with a small head fizzing away in a second. Aroma has a lot of fruits like cherries, grapes, red apples and berries. Doesn’t have the vinegar like character of the Grand Cru. Taste is also just slightly tart, letting the fruity character shine along with the slightly caramelized malts. Very easy to drink but complex at the same time.
