Pour is brownish with a thin off-white head. Nose is woody with some sourness. Taste is red grapes, oak barrel and some sourness. Some vanilla notes too. Pretty light body and not overwhelmingly sour. Low carbonation. Well done, but not outstanding.

Hazy brown beer, small tan head. Nose is tart with acidic notes, flavor is tart and somewhat vinous with plums, spice and berry hints. Pretty drinkable, not as tart and acidic I thought it would be.

I don’t like it as much as it’s reputation made me believe. It is too sweet for me.

Smell is malt and mild sourness. Taste is very very mild sourness and semi-sweet and sour red/brown. Medium body, medium to high carbonation, and mild foam.

13.2.2015. Dark red/brown. Sour aroma, slight sweetness, cherries. Flavour is tart, somehow quite soft, crispy carbonation, wood, slight cherries.

?ciemnia? ?e s? to nuty beczek d?bowych bo to chyba nie to. ?rednio wysycone, z dobrze ukrytym alkoholem. Idealny trunek do sytych obiadów. To piwo to kolejny belgijski klasyk i cho? s? inne, by? mo?e lepsze wariacje tego stylu, to Rodenbach jest jeden.

Poured into tulip a red tinged figgy brown with haze. Head tan and short to last, some lace. A sour cherry aroma that translates into taste. A little sweet in the early taste but turns slightly sour but never overbearing. Little aftertaste and finishes quite abruptly. Spurs are not on the top of my list but I liked this one.

Interesting brew, don’t think I’ve ever had something like this before. It is sour and refreshing, mild and tart. Not too much in the ’beer’ mainstream at all. Definitely a summer brew. Don’t remember this from a hasty ’beer tour’ of Belgium some years back, but there’s a lot I don’t remember from that particular jaunt. Probably my first sour, and I’m intrigued.
