One of my favorite Flemish sour ales. Very easy to drink and again, not as sour as some Flemish ales. A friend found a six pack in 12oz bottles outside Milwaukee, WI. Red in color, whitish head. Good start to sour ales if you are not familiar.

Bottle. My first sour ale. Pours dark red/brown with a ok white head. Head stays there for a while. Didn’t know what to expect after sniffing the glass. Very sour aroma with a light caramel note. Overall it’s just a sour aroma. The taste however was suprising. Starts sour with some very light fruit touch, leads to a light sour end with oak and malts in the finish. Expected that this one would be me more sour but after tasting it, it has a good balance between sour and some sweet notes. Refreshing indeed. Tasty brew.

Not much aroma, some caramel. Brown/red colour in the look, tan foam. Kind of sour/acid taste, some citric. Very tasty, but not my thing. Average carbonation, oily feel.

Sour date nose. Cloudy brown, thin head. Tastes as it smells, with a raisin finish. Somewhat unique and easy to drink. Tasty.

Pours a hazy deep red, slightly brown with an almost non-existent, frothy brownish head which dissipates quickly. The aroma is of cherries, vinegar and slightly of raisins. Upon tasting it brings out the cherry and vinegar tastes once again, though the notes of wood and grape come through here. Medium sourness and lightly sweet at the same time. Medium body with a nicely carbonated, somewhat light texture .The finish is dry with a somewhat lingering, pleasant aftertaste. My first sour ale. Quite enjoyed it.

8/15/10. 750mL bottle. Hmmm... took off the wire cage, turned to throw the cage away, and the cork shot out of the bottle on its own. The cork was extremely short... maybe that’s normal? Another story, another day, I guess. The pour is dark brown, very red when held to the light, with a fizzy off-white head that fades to a ring and a skin fast. The aroma is rough caramelly vinegar, like balsamic vinegar mixed with butter and crackers. The flavor is relatively bland sweet maltiness with a hint, though very slight hint, of sour and oak, again dominated by just sweet caramelly malts.

On tap at the Brick Store. Pours a dark red with a medium head. Smells mainly of cherries and vinegar. The flavor is tart cherries, roasted malts, some coffee, Very sweet and tart, with little bitterness. The body is heavy and smooth, with almost no aftertaste.

On tap at the reef. This was a nice sour ale, not as sour as the zuur that i had last week which made it much more drinkable. Sour cherry was prominent throughout. I dont believe it is the most refreshing beer in the world...at least not for me.
