3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours what looks at first glance to be a murky brown. Rather non descript with a finger and a half of loose bubbles that popped like soap bubbles pretty quickly and left a ring. Soapy lace as it drinks. Nose is half hearted. There is a light twang of vinegar that dissipates quickly, plenty of wood and earth and some very light cherry. Funky and has a scent deep in the nose that that smells like "sour." That vinegar twang comes back only lightly as ti warms.
Taste is also very light. It has a tartness but it’s not terrific. It has cherry but it’s too light and not deeply sweet. There is some acidity but it’s not lively and it doesn’t create tension with a bright acidity. The sour and funk give it a bit of depth and there is a light cracker taste from the malt. It becomes more interesting as it warms and drinks easily with nothing to frighten anyone who is shy of sour beers. As you drink it achieves a wine like sweetness in the middle that is quite nice. Mouthfeel is bubbly and light without a malt presence except as a blank canvas.
I was a little disappointed in this one but it’s not a bad beer. It lacks complexity.

Bottle. Pours brown with a short lasting beige head. Aroma is wood, red fruits, yeast and funk. Taste is moderate sour. Quite good but not as tasty as the grand cru.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
250ml Bottle from Beers of Europe (£1.59):
Sour and funky one with a lot of funk and lively fruits that includes some grapes, cherries and various berries. There is a faint hint of acidity and red wine; it’s dark, complex and sour with touches of sweetness on the nose.
Deep ruby & slightly opaque with a 1cm tall beige head that settles as a fine lacing around the edges.
Sour some nice cherries and dark berries along with red grapes and a hint of wine. There is a great balance of flavours and an cider like apple taste rounds things off.
Light medium and sour although not as sour as I expected, particularly after initially smelling the beer. The carbonation is about medium and some sweetness features in places.
Beautifully complex & sour, yet not quite as sour as I was expecting. A nice mix of fruits that add some sweetness to proceedings. A great beer to sip away at.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
25 cl bottle. Pours maroon with a small head. This was weak for being a Rodenbach. Nose and taste is lots of red berries, grapes and some vinegar. Body a bit to thin and flavours a bit weak but quite nice anyways.

Awesome sour. Not over powering nor underwhelming. Enjoyed poured from 750ml bottle.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle to tulip
Malt, oak, cherry, and a touch of citrus and maybe some lacto.
Deep red colour with a very creamy long lasting tan head. Sour and malty, with cherry and a bit of citrus, very little bitterness. What can I say...this is pretty refreshing.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from LBS. Good aroma with slight cherry flavors. Flavor was more of the same with the acid creating a refreshing counter flavor to the malty/cherry combo. Overall a great entry to sour beers & a solid beer in its own right.
