3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 TURDFERGUSON (2481) - Carrboro, North Carolina, USA - DEC 11, 2011
Bottle. Pours super cloudy reddish brown with a small white head. Nose of fruit and oak, prunes, plums, cherry, mild vinegar, light brine. Flavor is mildly sweet, mildly sour. Compared to some of the top american beers in this style, this feels very watered down. Medium bodied, with a slick texture, soft carbonation, and a slightly acidic finish. A good intro the world of sour beers.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ElDesmadre (378) - Mikołów, POLAND - DEC 8, 2011
Bottle. Greyish red-brown colour with a small head. Aroma is semi-dry red wine, some apples, oak, sharp phenolic spiciness, faint, well balanced vinegar acidity, some plums and cherries. Reminds me partly of red wine, partly of port wine, plus the typical "Belgian" spicy twist. Soft, sourish taste, with a sweetness not distinct but present in the background, balancing the sour side of this beer. Flavour is wine, cherries and plums, some wood, with a sourish semi-dry finish and a marginal yet well fitting bitterness. Very good.

19/11/2011 25cl bottle @ The New Minty (formerly Curieuze Neuze) - BB: 4/4/12 (2011-655)
Note: I’ve poured down litres of this stuff, especially as a student. Weird enough I never got around to rating this beauty. Not as good as the Grand Cru, but still very refreshing and yummy.
Clear dark ruby red to rust brown beer, yellowish big aery head, diminishes to small pretty stable layer. Aroma: yoghurt, sour red berries, bit of forrest fruit, woddy. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: red fruits, bit of red wine vinegar tartness, lemon and lime zest. Aftertaste: little bitter ending with tartness still lingering. Lovely stuff.

750ml bottle from Pinch on the discount rack for 5 bucks. Rating number 1000 for this beer. I think it is pretty aged. Cork is all dried out and the cage has some nice rust starting on it. Pours a hazy dark brown with about half a finger of off-white head. Aroma is kinda sour. Apple, cherry and raspberry. Taste is light sweet and light sour. Sour apples, sour cherries and sour raspberries. Some sweet Belgian sugar. Medium bodied with a somewhat thin and slick texture. Lively carbonation and a long sour finish. Overall, not too bad. I probably should have drank this before I tried the Grand Cru though.
