12oz bottle. BB date 3/18/16. Appearance: Murky brown with a dark ruby red tint and a light off white foam head that dissipates quickly. Aroma: Bready malt undertones with a musty, acetic acid, and strawberry aroma. Taste: Sweet bready maltiness, with dark fruit and berry notes, and a tart acetic sourness to balance. Mouthfeel: Medium body and a moderately high carbonation. Finish: Very dry. Lingering toasted, bready malt and a touch of acetic tartness. Overall: Classic Flanders red with distinct acetic tartness, dark fruit character, and a vinous character. Finishes like a semi dry red wine.

Palackból. Habja szinte semmi, vörösbe hajló sötétbarna szín. Illata kissé édeskés, vörösboros, hordós. Íze vörösboros alappal rendelkezik, némi savanykás-édeskés beütéssel. Frissítő, jól kiegyensúlyozott, könnyed sör, közepes testtel, hosszú, telt utóízzel.

Unclear, red colored, medium- lasting off white head. Aroma is fruity tart, bit red wine, some caramel. Taste is light+ sweet candy fruity berry, red wine, tart with medium- sourness, vinegar, dryish finish. Medium to light bodied, soft carbonation. I’d just skip this one and go for the Grand Cru for the woodiness and complexity...

Wersja grand cru znacznie lepsza.

Kauge (1451) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - FEB 28, 2016
Bottle from Alkostock in Tallinn (€ 2.49). BB 24.09.2016. Pours hazy reddish-coppery with a smallish light beige head leaving scattered uneven lace. The aroma is apple skin and wood, brown sugar, plus a red grape must/nutty/floury - or should I say churchkhela - hint. Tastes sugary sweet, sourish-acidic, fruity (red apples and grapes). Somewhat acidic. Dryish in the finish. Carbonation rather active; feels slightly watery on the palate. A good, but kinda simplistic and easygoing Sour. An easy drinker, that’s for sure.

Bottle. Pours a hazy dark reddish brown color with a small light brown head. Aroma of oak, red wine vinegar, brown sugar, forest floor and wild berries. The flavor extends the aroma with the addition of black currant. Has a slick and soft mouth feel, medium body and a light bitterness. A well-balanced and easy drinking sour ale.

Aftertaste mantém as sensaçőes do aroma, avinagrada, maça e uva, média persistęncia. Gostei, mas prefiro a duchese. Obs: estava vencida a 1 męs, mas disseram que essa năo sofre tanta influęncia.

Bottle from Wellington Arms, Bedford. Reddish brown, cloudy. Oak, turpentine, a touch of red wine vinegar. Sweet taste with a sour edge. Brown sugar and vinaigrette dressing. Tart finish with soy and sesame. Fully carbonated body. An incredible little fucker.

25cl bottle, served in snifter glass. Poured a brownish red with a one finger white head. Aromas of oak, cherries, vinegar, moist earth. Taste is pretty much a continuation of the aroma. Vinous, sour but not overwhelming, in perfect balance with the cherries. Medium body with a sweet tart and sour finish. Overall a very good sour beer. And I agree with Michael Jackson that this is a very refreshing beer! Cheers!
