Bottle. Pours deep reddish brown. Fair beige head. Aroma is fruity, berries, wet woody sour, wild. Light bodied. Lighter sweetness. Mild sourness. Light acidic, tart. Quick, clean finish. A bit thin. Tasty and super easy drinking. Very pleasant beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Ha. Guess I never rated this one. Story time...I used to buy this beer for 1.99 a bottle back in the late 90s, early 2000s. It was a lot better, tarter, thicker, richer. Whatever..moving on. Unfiltered brown-burgundy body. Oily off-white/beige head. Pleasant cherry tinged sour tones in the aroma. A pleasant sour lactic touch, but the body falls just a little bit short. Still an absolute classic, and more logical if you consider that a six pack of Rodenbach in Belgium would be 4 or 5 dollars. Not at all on the same level as they were years ago. Still tasty.

Poured from a 1 Pint 9.4 FL.OZ Bottle. The color is a hazy brown/kind of reddish color. The was a light brown that dissipates quickly. I smell cherries, dark fruits and some wood. I taste all the same and it’s balance very well with the sour and very light sweetness. I do like it:)!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Brown pour with red highlights. Fluffy tan head that sticks around nicely. Quite a malty nose with some woody notes and dark fruit. The same characters show on the palate with solid toffee notes, dark fruit and hints of wood. Finishes slightly tart with some sweetness. Decidedly not the most refreshing beer in the world but still worth drinking.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from the "beer of the month club"
Pours dark red hue with a small off-white head and sparse lacing. Nose is lots of candied cherries and lite sourness, and i mean lite. flavors of musty cherries, lite sourness and some sweetness. not much of anything else. this is one of the orignals of the style so i give it props for this. finish is very short but has some lasting tartness. one of the originals for this type of beer. cool i finally got to try it!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Murky brown pour, looks a little like thin mud. Sweet and tart aromas of plums and other fruits, some vanilla and woody notes. Taste is medium sour with a nicely balanced sweetness. Mixed dark and red fruits with a little oak and vanilla in the flavour. Pretty thin mouthfeel with a fairly dry finish. I liked this aside from the thin texture.
