250ml bottle from The Beerhive. Very thin off white head disappears quickly, thin ring of lacing. Body is murky brown with a slight hint of red. Nose is sour apples, yeast, white wine. Flavour is sour apple, lemon, Refresher bars, sour cherry, tart finish with a hint of bitterness. Light carbonation, gentle mouthfeel, dry finish. Very enjoyable.

Bottle, 250 ml. Rich wine-ish aroma. Funky, oaky. Beer pours with cream head which changes in a while to pretty little lace. Fresh and little bit sour in taste. Middle bodied, balanced carbonation.

33cl, boite.

Interesting blend of young and old beer. Unique sour taste in a Belgian Red Ale. The taste isn’t as bad as the smell.

Heavy fruit and port wine like aroma. Heavy brown body with a reddish hue. Light tan film head. Dark fruit tang. Port wine quality with a dry crisp finish. Enjoyable and refreshing.

11.2 oz. bottle, consumed on 7-14-15. Pours a nice, hazy, medium brown with a slight amber tint. Small to moderate amount of beige head. Looks good. Scents of tart apple, crabapple, cranberry, lemon, and chocolate. Lightly tart flavor. Subdued tartness for the style. I wouldn’t even call it sour. Quite malty in flavor. Applejack/calvados flavor. Not my favorite set of flavors. Light to medium body. Frothy in the palate. Insubstantial palate effects. Of historical importance and certainly not a bad beer but has been repeatedly eclipsed by superior, more modern, and more extreme takes on the style.

Bottle. Brown/dark red, white small head. Aroma of red wine, wood/oak and some toasted/caramel malts. In taste sweet at first then low sour with vinous notes. Finish is dry, sour with oaky and red wine notes. I prefer Grand Cru version but this is quite nice too.
