A gift from Peter who works in Brusles but wisely lives in Leuven, tasted at Delirium. Nicely sweet and sour with oaky overtones. A winner.

I hate sour beers. I really do. But, this one is definitely one of my favorites. It’s not overblown. it doesn’t taste like vinegar. It’s lightly soured, refreshing and easy to drink. Classic.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 TheJollyOne (219) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - NOV 29, 2008
Poured a chestnut brown body with a very quickly diminishing, off white head. Light balsamic vinegar, cranberries, and apples on the nose. Tasted of sour apples, lemon citrus, and a hint of white vinegar, pleasant. Bubbly and medium palate, watery, goes down easily. Good sour ale.

A solid drop, but too late to savour after dinner, as I did. Not so complex (obviously) it finishes with a TM sour finish. I prefer Duchess to this, but thats a personal preference. enjoyable

25cl bottle in local pub, very refreshing complex volatile fruitiness of wine,a bit sourish but just fine.

The bottle I got had an extremely low carbonation level. Poured nearly flat, with a dark amber color and no real head to speak of. Had the aroma of "sour patch kids" candy. Flavor was mildly sour, yet complex , light and refreshing at the same time.
I brought this beer home from Belgium, wish I had brought more than one bottle
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 penguinjive7 (67) - Buffalo, New York, USA - NOV 21, 2008
Pours a dark amber with a bit of a white head. Good amount of lacing. Smell is of sour fruit and a bit vinous. Taste is tart to begin with but fades into sweetness leaving the slight vinegar taste behind. The finish is much smoother than the front and leaves a nice taste in the mouth. The carbonation is done well and complements the taste nicely.
Overall this is a very unique brew. The several stages in flavor lead to a nice complexity. I would not go out of my way to get this again, but it is definitely worth a try and I will again soon, I’m sure.

Bottle: Dark cranberry colored pour with a foamy tan head...very dry, woodsy nose with some fresh cherry notes and peppery malts. Light, crisp body...perfect. Flavor is yet again, dry and oak-y up front followed up by cherries and peppery malts. Though subtle, their is indeed the lactic tartness/sourness apparent which rounds it out nicely.
