Quite tasty. Not exceptionally sour. Well balanced with the malt sweetness. Not super complex, but easy drinking and quite pleasant, just the right amount of oak doesn’t overpower it.

Mahogany color with a delicious small lacing head. Sour aroma of vinegar and sour cherry with oak perfume. Acidic, barrique taste with cherries, some hazelnut with a good balanced sourish vinegar aftertaste. Complex mouthfeel, nice sour ale

25 cl bottle from Bieropholie, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. JN22/08.

App.: Very deep mahogany, decent tan head, clear. Aroma: Strong organic acids and some funk, sour cherries and bitter greens, some brown sugar and raisins, slightly nutty, light warm spices, a bit of molasses. Palate: Medium-ish body, somewhat astringent, sparse carbonation. Flav.: The malts come through more here: hazelnuts, brown sugar, raisins, rootbeer-like herbals, some vanilla, the funk is only barely noticeable, some cherries and a touch of organic acids; somewhat tart, a little bitterness, vanilla and a bit of brown sugar with organic acids to finish.

I like it. A nice blend of sourness and rich malts.

Ruby red is the best way to describe the colour of this beer. medium sized vanilla head. semi sweet aromas of fermented cherries, oak and vinegar. Has a light, moderately carbonated mouthfeel. very lively with flavors of cherries and plums. Reminded of a cherry lambic taste, overall a nice beer.

Small bottle. Very dark amber with a very thin head. Refreshing sour apple and cherry aroma. Good sour and slightly sweet flavor with a lingering aftertaste.

Small bottle purchased at Ledger’s Liquors, in Berkeley, Calif. Poured pretty flat. What little head there was from pouring pretty much died, leaving a slight ring at the glass edge. No sediment so wonder if this is artifically carbonated. Has that wonderfully unique sour smell to it. Sort of a cross between a wet bandaid, cherries and cough syrup. Very distinct sour taste, which changers to another sour flavor on the palate in the aftertaste. Somewhat thin body. Vinegar after taste after a couple of minutes. Not sure I’d like to drink this one regularly by itself, but think it would be dynamite paired with a spicy curry, or something like that which has a kick to it!!
