33cl bottle @ home. Its a nice red beer with a great head. Taste and smell is like a wine. I’m not a wine-drinker but I liked the beer.

Bottle 33cl. Head: beige, small, avg. retention. Colour: deep red-brown. Aroma: dark dry fruit (prune), wine/vinegar, sharp yeasty / barnyard. Taste: sour, but not really acid, some dried fruit too. Not really my thing, but interesting. Y

2012 Vintage. 250mL bottle at DHVL, pours a opaque dark amber brown with a medium beige head. Aroma of dark stone fruits oak, and bready malts. Flavour brings out muted dark stone fruits, a tinge of oak character, and bready malts. Pretty simply beer, which is nice to try so you can appreciate all the other Rodenbach beers for a point of comparison. Not very complex or with many layers -- but solid stuff and drinkable.

UPDATED: MAY 10, 2013 Bottle at Stubbies in Gaineville poured ini Rodenbach tulip. Not what I was expecting after having their Vintage 2010. Really more of a quad, dubbel, or Belgian dark. Pours dark brownish res with a thin fluffy head on top. Aroma of plums and cherry, with verry littke sourness. Flavor follows, with some additional strong malt flavor and a bit of molasses, black cherry and a hint of funk. A very good and flavorful beer but not on style here. Medium to heavy slick mouthfeel, soft and smooth on the palate.

250ml bottle. Dark brown-red colour, thin beige head and aroma of wine, vinegar, dark fruits, barnyard. Taste is sour, with tart lemon, sweet cherry & plum, plus woody oak & cola-like notes and some light bitterness & biscuity malt in the finish. Slick mouth feel, light bodied, medium carbonation. Quite drinkable.

Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is vinegar and oak (maybe a lttle lemon too). Taste is beautiful. I was expecting something very sour. Instead, I get faint lemon followed immediately by smooth oak and a significant sweet syrup. The finish eases in with smooth malts. A truly complex sour.

After drinking the king of sours, the bruery’s version, this is lackluster. Hopefully, the duchess is better.

Nice, almost cola-colored beer with a slightly grey-like foamy head. It has a slightly sour aroma which reminds me of champagne. It also tastes a bit sour and champagne-like, but the aftertaste resembles the taste of bread. Strange, but interesting beer.

Deep plum color. 2 inch tan head. Sweet strawberry amd blackberry aroma. Tastes like a creamy fruit rollup smoothie. The most refreshing beer in the world? I thought that title belonged to coors light. The metallic aftertaste doesn’t help either one.
