Saw a good deal on a 6-pack of these for my wife, a big sour fan. Sneaking a bottle, poured into a tulip glass a reddish-dark brown color with small off-white head. Aroma of balsamic vinegar, light fruit and some oaky notes. Taste is not as sour as aroma leads on, more fruity (mainly cherries, some raspberries) with a balance that’s not overly sweet. Medium body and carbonation, tart, yet a surprisingly light flavor. I think I have a new go-to easy drinking sour here.

On a flight of beer at Meisterstück. A quaffable sour! Slightly pinchy in the back, otherwise smooth and solid. I find the aromas hard to describe. Some red berries, maybe? Not that much, though. Still refreshing.

Tap (4Hops, Wroclaw). Piwo klarowne o ciemno brazowej barwie, bialo-szarej pianie, niezbyt obfitej i praktycznie bez lacingu. Aromat intensywny kwasny, wisniowy, winny, intensywny. Przyjemna winna kwasnosc w idealnym natezeniu. Lekkie, rzeskie, pijalne, bardzo przyjemne w odbiorze.

25cl Flasche. Bräunliches Bier mut flachem Schaum. Malz und Eichenfass Aroma mit Rotweinnote. Geschmack erinnert auch an Wein. Das Bier wird durch längeres Lagern noch besser!

Can’t believe I haven’t picked this up before. Around 3 bucks for a bottle is a steal for what you are getting. Hazy brown orange red, spotty lacing. Fruity yeasty nose. Very refreshing fruity spicy lightly carbonated. A bit syrupy at the start, cleans up at the end. Quite good.

Clear reddish brown, short head leaves an off-white ring on top. Winey notes, bit sour, basement notes distantly, ripe fruits and berries, cherry, leather, sweet. Sour and dry, light, carbonation quite evident, long dry finish. Ok but not much more, bit like cider.

A good beer style that was not my favorite of Belgian beers, is always a discovery of tastes and sensations. I miss subtlety and depth.

Sour cherry and oak, more the former than the latter, but not a ton of either. It’s on the light side. Certainly this isn’t the choice for those who want malt or hops. Not a bad way to ease your way into Flemish sours.

Nice tart cherry, plum, dark fruit to start with a nice soft oak vanilla maltiness to finish. Really great balance and complexity of flavours.

0.25 l bottle from De Bierkoning, best before 6/7/2016. Clear, deep red with a thin, frothy, quickly diminishing, tan head. Minimally funky, sourish-fruity aroma of cherries, red wine, oak and mild vinegar. Sourish-fruity taste of cherries, red wine, oak and mild vinegar, followed by short, medium tart and slightly oaky finish. Thin to medium body, slightly astringent and light effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Not as complex and wild as the Grand Cru and also a bit sweeter. The acidity is rather reserved and just enough to give the beer a kick. Nevertheless very refreshing and enjoyable.
