3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22-ounce corked. Pours murky dark brown with a tan head that flattens quickly to a film. Enormous green apples on the nose. Sweet, with a fizzy mouthfeel (usually not so becoming of a beer...these Belgians and Flemishes can be tough to get used to at first). Plenty of sweet and sour green apple permeating the flavor, with a light straw-like finish.

330 ml bottle. Pours a clear, very dark mahogany, with light head. Aromas of balsamic vinegar. Light sour flavors of fruity vinegar. Easy to drink. Guess it could be called refreshing and certainly not offensive. Very much an intro to the style or simply a watered down Grand Cru.

Red-brown color with not much head. Fruity aroma with a bit of oak. Not very sour. A bit disappointing, but still good.

From notes at bier baron in dc.
A: dark red, excellent clarity. Rim of beige foam spotty lacing.
S: wood, grapes, tartness, cherries. Not very strong or complex.
T: it’s a standard Flanders red. A bit too sweet for my preferences. Wood. Cherry. Slightly tart.
M: medium bodied with low carb. A really nice creamy feel to this which matches the beer, not the style IMO. Nice though.
O: not a great Flanders red at all for me. Pretty standard and a little too sweet.
Serving type: on-tap

Red/brown pour (as you would expect) with minimal head. Aromas of oaked wine and some yeast notes. Flavor is pleasantly tart with some nice fruit character. Smooth and very drinkable.

Medium white head, cola colored body. Aroma of wine, spice, oak, cider. Flavors of grapes, wine, cider, pineapple, oak. Palate is light, with medium carbonation. Finish is sour. This is my first sour, and being a stout drinker this is a long way from home, and yet it's quite good!
