Hmm - not exactly what I was expecting. Isn’t very sour at all. Faint berry, earth and funk nose. Tastes are timid up front then a slight tropical berry sour sneaks through. Nice palate. Overall a little disappointed.

Butelka 0.33L
Wygląd: Ciemnomiedziane/brunatne. Średnia, jasnokremowa piana. Niewielki lacing.
Aromat: Słodowy, lekko kwaśny, miodowy. W porównaniu do grand vru zdecydowanie słabszy, delikatniejszy.
Smak: Lekko kwaśne, wiśnia, lekko cierpkie. Końcówka słodsza i czekoladowa.

Bought a six pack. First bottle seemed to have very little life; weak taste and carbonation. The second was better and by the time I finished the 3rd, I had become a fan. I think I was just used to stronger Belgian beer and was comparing it to them. What I initially called weak, I’ll now change to smooth with very little noticeable hop taste (or alcohol taste for that matter). Aroma is of tart cherries, Appearance is a pleasant red, with minimal foam. It’s a sweet beer with a sour kick on the end. Overall a good beer and affordable for a Belgian import. I find it pairs well with Edam cheese.

It looks to be a murky shade of reddish brown with effectively nil head but some good beads of carbonation. No prizes for its appearance, but I’m not so shallow that I would write this beer off because of it. Fresh, sour aromas of fruits and caramel. Good estery aromas. The flavour is tart and refreshing with cherryvite, nectarine and juicy red cherries. Lovely stuff.

Bottle. Very dark amber, basically brown. Aroma is tart with some fruity funk and balsamic vinegar. The taste adds red fruit like cherry, toast, and chocolate. High carb with a thin body. Good stuff ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330mL can BB 15/4/15 Great looking beer - deep bronze with a rocky beige head leaving clumpy lace. Complex nose; nutty caramel malts, touch of cocoa, musty barrel, vinous red fruits, balsamic vinegar, green apple. Medium carbonation, full somewhat smooth/creamy body, hit of acetic acidity is well balanced. Rich caramels on the body, slightly treacle-like, with some nutty notes, combining with red berries & vinous plums, sultana, red wine vinegar & oak toastiness. Beautiful beer; tremendously complex, yet drinkable and different; the sourness adds an extra dimension that the vast majority of beers simply don’t have.

Bottle BBE 8/5/15. Chilled. Acetic acid/balsamic aromas. Brown sauce. Slight sweetness on the nose. Highly unusual. Deep brown/red appearance with a small, quick-to-dissipate, tan head. Mouth-watering, lasting vinegar taste with emerging candy sweetness. Green apple flavours with underlying cider-like dryness. Palate-cleansing with fairly light carbonation and a long-lasting finish. Unique beer that develops and surprises throughout, although I can’t think of a situation I’d choose this beer other than as an aperitif.

In bottle (Brussels); quite nice ... somewhat sour, with a little vinegar hint though very easy drinking for dinner with an appetizer ... I would drink this again, just not with dinner

Transfer from BA review on 5-7-13- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – Pours a deep ruby red color with a small white foam on the top of the brew. The thin foam fades rather rapidly leaving only a trace level of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell- The aroma is a mix of cherry and plum with a strong sour aroma of a candy like nature as well as some notes of a yeasty like smell. Taste – The taste begins with a raspberry and cherry sweetness mixed with a rather mellow tartness. As the flavor advances the fruit flavors remain constant and are joined by some light oaky flavors as well as an increase in the tart and sour flavors due to an advent of a tart apple and lactic acid taste. As the taste advances further to the end a yeasty like taste joins the mix producing a slightly funky and sour taste to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the thinner side with a carbonation level that is rather average as well. Both are rather fitting for the style and help keep the brew an easier drinker even in light of its more tart nature. Overall – A rather enjoyable brew with a nice blend of sweet and tart.
