Carried home from Belgium. Flavor is a bit simple: lactic acid and some Brett. No depth. Metallic notes that I recognize from De Dolle (who rumor goes got their yeast from Rodenbach pre-Palm). I'm not sure what to do with the metallic notes--seem out of place without hops.

I wouldn’t call this the most refreshing beer in the world....not even if I was retarded. Im more refreshed after a lager or session IPA but hey, thats just me. Some people like a nice, sweet, fruit beer to feel good. Red or Purple pour with the standard overly sweet and viscous cherry and oak tones. Some light vinegar.

Opened this one for a belgian goulash with Kasteel Donker. Thanks a lot for the recipe Frank and Bierhandlung! Decent sourness with vinegar and (Slightly toasted) wood.

Pours a clear reddish brown with a thin white ring. Tart, sour fruity aroma. Thin body with light carbonation and some lacing. Lightly tart fruity taste. Flavors don;t linger very long. OK, but not as goo as the Grand Cru.

Złożony aromat jabłek, wiśni i agrestu (?). W smaku cierpkie, silnie wytrawne, z umiarkowaną kwaśnością i sporą ilością cydrowo-drewnianych akcentów. Jabła nadal dość silnie wyczuwalne, wiśnia już mniej. Finisz cierpki, delikatnie drewniany. Niezłe.

(330ml bottle, Beijing) AROMA: Sweet, fermented fruit, dried fruit, cherry, very ripe apples, jam, APPEARANCE: cloudy, medium brown/red, beige head, clingy/oily. TASTE: ciderish, sweet, apple, cherry, grape, tobacco, fortified wine without being alcoholy, tart finish. PALATE: Sparkly, fizzy, afterwards quite smooth/oily/slick, some bitterness but not too much. OVERALL: Different, interesting, unique. Doesn’t come off a beer, seems more like a cider (as if made almost wholly from fruit, not from malt). A good beer to try and discuss. I like it, it is fun/fresh ... however I can imagine some people saying it is too sweet or girly.

Lattina, 33 cl. Mediamente carbonata, corpo molto leggero, texture watery.

Small 0,25 bottle. Pours dark copper. Aroma is wine-like with cherry and cranberry. I have to say that these sour fruit beers and Lambics are not my cup of tea. So as the girl always says; It’s me and not the beer that has the faults. The taste is like the vinegar that have to drink when I have a soar throat. It’s sour and doesn’t feel like a beer to me. Maybe I’m just old fashioned. Could’n finish this one though.
