UPDATED: MAR 21, 2009 Pours a chocolate amber with a small tan head. Aroma strong of tart fruits, mostly cherries. Taste is as tart as the aroma with hints of caramel and that oak zing. Felt like I was drinking a fruit cider, which was a bit disappointing, because I wanted a sour ale. A nice go-to ale when that is what I am looking for though. I will have to try this again to make sure this is what it is supposed to taste like.

Nice balance between sweet and sour, with hints of cherries and red wine. The aroma also reveals subtle caramel flavours. A fine example of an underrated beerstyle.

330ml bottle from Beer Station, Xiamen. Pours hazy dark brown with a thin white head. Aroma of sour red wine, cider and vinegar. Sour finish. Gets better as you drink it but a little thin, maybe a little too cold out of the fridge.

Mild sourness with not much sweetness as a balance. Pours a reddish brown colour. Not their greatest offering but still quite tasty.

Zoet zurig fruitig aroma. Bes-achtig. Kleine schuimkraag die snel weg trekt. Zacht zurig zoetig van smaak. Vrij vlak maar toch complex (zurig, zoetig, eikenhoutig, droog). Weinig carbonatie.

Dark amber color beer with a small white head. Smells fruity, sour. Taste is sour (citrus), woody and fruity. Nice.

Bottle @ Snuffel Backpackers Hostel, Brugge. Dark amber-red with a head. Has a soured fruit taste, but nothing lingers in the palate and it’s disappointing as there’s no kick to it. Has a much better nose though.

This was poured into a snifter. The appearance was a nice looking hazy amber to orange to brown/Red color with a slim half finger-ed white foamy head that dissipated within about a light thirty seconds. The smell had a nice sweet to sour fruit leaning towards an apple/possibly peach and maybe somewhat light cherry. The taste took those flavors and combined wonderfully to taste. A nice sweet fruity to somewhat sour aftertaste accompanies the flavor. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was there and good for the style and for me - as it’s nothing overbearing. Overall, I’d say that this is one I’d have again. Great beer!

Bottle. Dark amber color. Aromas: sour cherries, overripe apples, mushrooms, copper, sour mayonnaise. Very typical (and a little funky). Taste is not as sour as one would expect: sour sweet grape taste, sour cherries, but sweet development towards jam. Interesting.

Não gostei. Apesar de ser bonita na aparência, no aroma sobressaiu o cheiro de vinagre. Bem seca na boca, mas o vinagre persistiu.
