Theydon_Bois (8613) - The ’Sham, Surrey, ENGLAND - SEP 9, 2014
Bottle on the IOW Jolly Day outward train tasting, thanks to Leighton Hoverfan, 24/08/14. Hazed orange amber with a big old off white covering that retains well. Nose is bitter orange marmalade, light plastic, earthy hop, pine, hint of soap. Taste comprises bitter tropicals, light pine, orange pith, spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with hop bitterness. So so DIPA, drinkable but a touch too much plastic/soap to it.

Bottle at home, 7th September 14. God hoppy aroma, pours quite dark, the flavour is well balanced, fairly sweet, in line with the style, the hops come through, and it is easy to drink especially for the ABV. OK, would like more bitterness.

jerohen (1995) - Bussum, NETHERLANDS - SEP 4, 2014
Bottled from Biernavigatie.nl. Hazy orange brown colored, huge beige head, yet little carbonation. Fruity nose, grapefruit, some spices, pepper perhaps. Hopbitter flavor, but not extreme, fruit again, grapefruit and orange. Spicy and dry finish. I wouldn’t have guessed the 9.5% abv. Original, interesting, but not my favorite dipa.

SlackerMads (1606) - Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 1, 2014
Bottle thanks to Leighton. Hazy/unclear orange with a medium sized tan head. Citrus, berries, band aid, light plastic, leafy green, herbal, earthy, caramel, brown sugar. Medium body, oily texture, high carbonation, medium sweet and heavy bitter. Long dry astringent finish. Starts syrupy sweet then turns aggressively bitter. Unpleasant.

Scopey (6812) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 25, 2014
Bottle shared by Leighton during the IoW Jolly. It pours murky amber with a thick off-white head. The nose is juicy, earthy, soap, citrus peel, doughy, muffin and brioche. The taste is very bitter, raw, earthy, dirt, astringency, orange, soap, leaf and oily hops with a dry finish. Medium and high carbonation and very foamy mouth-feel. The foaminess almost chokes you... Soapy and foamy. No good.

Bottle - Sweet caramel and mellow earthy hops. Cloudy gold with a rich beige head. Crazy bitter, herbal hops and caramel. Soapy and bubbly. Not great.

77ships (3762) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - AUG 17, 2014
Sampled @ Gents Bierfestival 2014. 330 ml. bottle. Huge off-white head, hazy amber beer. Creamy orange, pine nose,… Tastes of strong caramel, cookie, molaases, toffee with a balance of pine, flowers, resin, grapefruit, toffee, touch honey, nice sweet / bitter balance. Creamy thick malty body. Pretty nice DIPA, another fine beer from the ever improving NL beer scene.

JorisPPattyn (7906) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - AUG 16, 2014
Towering, very dense yellow head, with lace over fully hazy amber beer. Pine, cypress, rainwater, and dry hops. Resiny, quite bitter, bitter herbs (rather than -hops), liquorice minus the sweetness; The malt is present underneath, but builds more body than flavour. Quite carbonated, very slick and at least medium bodied. Remarkable. This is more a continental interpretation of IPA than many’s the so-called ’Belgian IPA’...
