Smell of yeast, alcohol. Red brown colour, beige head. Aroma of raisins, oak, alcohol, some licorice. Sweet. Lively carbon, oily palate. Good bock.

Light gushing to huge rubiginous yellow head over fully hazy redbrown beer. Sweet nose with aniseed, almonds, marzipan. Spicy and roasted, but generally referring to really sweet flavours. Faint acidity, helped by the rather overdone carbonation; yeasty too. Very thick, creamy texture. Long lasting flavours with roasty bitter(ish)ness. Sweet Bock.

Aroma:
Medium aroma of malts, caramel, dried fruits and nuts.

Appearance:
Turbid/opaque ruby/brown beer with heavy yeast and with a slight/medium beige/brown head.

Taste/Palate:
Medium sweet and slightly dry with malts, caramel, dried fruits and nuts.

Overall:
This beer is rather intense and balanced, but lacks complexity. Only has one flavour, but does his trick pretty decent.

Flaske delt ombord på Fridtjofen, RBHD-samling april-16: klar, rødlig mahogny med fint skum. Inviterende aroma av tørkede frukter, malt, røde bær og gule epler. Lekker, saftig dobbelbocksmak i perfekt balanse. Myk bitterhet og lang avslutning.

Bottle 33cl. Brown with a huge tan head. A bit sweet nose with some dried fruit. Nice taste with a bit of "candy" sweet, meant positive. Hints of banana, dried fruit and subtle bitter hops at the end. Medium length.

330ml bottle (One Pint, Helsinki)
Rich raisiny black bread aroma. Super full palate, smooth and luscious. Taste is a magnificent sweet bready body, doppelbock as I like it. Is it heavy, or is it just lusciously sippable. Maybe both. Clearly a strong beer, but not boozy. Massive press of the doppelbock button. Super rich black bread everywhere, magnificent!

(Draught at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 18 Feb 2015) Dark reddish brown colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, spicy nose with notes of caramel, dark bread, raisins, nutmeg and cinnamon. Malty, spicy taste with caramel, dried fruit, coffee, dark bread, cinnamon, anise and a balanced spicy bitterness. More than medium body, with balanced sweetness. Tasty and quite spicy. Quite nice.
