Heerlijk!

33 cl bottle (11% abv) @ Timo A.
Pours dark brown-red color with a small off-white head. Smooth malty aroma, chocolate, some faint chili notes, herbs and coffee, some red wine too. Thick palate, cocoa, dark chocolate, dark berry notes and some faint alcohol. Might be that the coffee has faded away a bit on this, turning into vegetables even, nothing too disturbing though. Decent.

Bottle 33cl. Color pitch black, one finger creamy mocha colored head, recedes after a while to a thick layer, good lacing; aroma sweet malty, roasty, chocolate, dark fruits, raisins, salty licorice (zoute drop), peat; taste moderate sweetbitter, roasty, chocolate; full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation; finish dry bittersweet with coffee bitterness and fruity sweetness, peppery and clove notes. Impressive porter.

On tap at Belmont Station. Colour...jet black with a huge brown head. Nose...gobs of dark, sweet chocolate, roasty malt and boozy goodness. Palate...thick, chewy, chunky and brooding with massive amounts of bittersweet chocolate and notes of black coffee. There’s quite an ashen feel and plenty of char character to go with the roasted grain and burnt hazelnuts. The finish is ultra long with tremendous depth and richness.

Black, small brown lacing foam ring. Coffee aroma, not too strong though. But strong bitter coffee taste, some leather, some smoke. Good beer. Lasting bitter aftertaste. (Velp 201410)

Bottle, bought @Alesbymail. Pours deep opaque black with a small, creamy beige head. Aroma has sweet malts, vinious, chocolate, light coffee, soft roasted, a hint of pepper. Low carbonation, fine dry and quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has good sweetness, chocolate, coffee, blackberries. Pleasantly vinious, good coffee bitterness. Nice.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours deep dark brown with a thin tan head. Aromas of coffee, dark cooked sugar, slight smokiness, light damp basement. Taste is more of the same, without the damp. Sweet coffee. Oily mouthfeel, sticky finish. Good.
