Bière classée par ratebeer en imperial porter, mais le côté café fort et amer me fait plutôt pencher pour un stout. Le niveau abv n’est pas de 12% comme indiqué sur le site, mais de 11% (mais j’ai vu que le niveau était variable). Niveau ebu de 88. Le profil de saveurs indiqué sur la bouteille est à nouveau loin de la réalité, avec un fruité de 9 sur 10 et malté de 10. Nous verrons que l’on est loin du compte !!! Couleur noir intense (ebc de 165). Mousse brun clair qui forme uniquement un petit voile en tourbillons au rez du liquide. Arômes de café noir, bois exotique, un peu piquant, malt brûlé, réglisse. 1ère bouche souple sur du café noir arabica, bois brûlé, terre brûlée. Arrière-bouche de malt, pointe de tourbe, fagnes, sphaignes. 2ème avec un côté un peu suret qui vient sur le brûlé, mauvais mariage en l’occurrence. Arrière-bouche constrictive. 3ème à l’étrange mélange aigre/acide sur le café torréfié !! Arrière-bouche déséquilibrée, comme assommée par ce mixage. Longueur qui n’apporte rien de différent, et descend par la suite. Jambes marquées mais collantes. Levure grossière, fausse, inapte à ce genre de bière. Alcool non progressif, ne travaille pas les saveurs. Finale tordue. CONCLUSION : un porter qui est donc un stout, pas du tout impérial (sauf son haut niveau abc, mais ceci ne suffira jamais pour faire une grande bière … d’autant plus que l’alcool ici ne travaille pas les saveurs). Donc un bain de midnight lui ferait du bien ...

Bottle @ Cafe Meijers. Very dark brown coloured, thin light brown head. Nose is roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, liquorice, dried fruits. Flavour is roasted malts, coffee, milk chocolate, bit of wood, dark fruits, a bit boozy. Moderately bitter. Excellent!

Bottle at home from bierkoning, many thanks. Pours deep brown color, extra dark small head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, peated. Taste is medium sweet, coffee, peated, chocolate, dried fruits.

Bottle; pours black with a mocha head; aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and dark fruits; taste is bittersweet with coffee, chocolate, and roasted malt with some dark fruit and pepper; finish is dry and lightly bitter; alcohol is fairly well hidden; very solid porter

Clear dark black brown color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, sweet malt, alcohol, wood notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, roasted, dark malt, alcohol, dark roasted. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to lively, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20150124]

very stable and dense moccha head leaves structured lacing and foamhead. coffee coloured. aroma is chocolate, coffee, red fruits, quad esters, boozy. taste like aroma, bitter chocolate, roasted malts, slight caramelish sweetness followed by a pronounced bitterness, ash. dense mouthfeel, pours almost like motoroil, soft carbonation. excellent! bottle 33cl / bbf oct-2020

Bottle. Black with small beige head. Coffee, walnuts, marzipan, black currant, cocoa powder, light herb candy. Quite dry and powdery with medium sweetness at first going into roasted bitterness. Doesn't seem like 11% ABV at all. Good beer.

Bottle from MItra Kisjes. Bron to black, almost no head. Flat. Aroma has molasses, coffee, roasted malts, mocca. Full bodied, intense, some alcohol, molasses, chocolate, strong coffee. Despite the many IBU’s no bitter beer. Very nice.

Bottle @ First Official Randers Tasting. Pours cloudy very dark brown with small tan head. Clear aroma of caramel, malt, coffee and roast. Roasty flavour, with notes of chocolate and coffee, and touches of liquorice, milk and hops. Bitterish aftertaste. Warming alcohol presence. Nice.
