   AROMA 2/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 1/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 4/20
corkyrory66 (809) - BELGIUM - APR 9, 2015

33cl bottle. Poured black colored, thin brown head. Woody, roasted malty aroma, some licorice, strong coffee notes. Pleasant aroma overall. Some red wine notes actually. Flavor has roasted malt, cocoa, dark chocolate, hops. Long, but quite dry finish, some vinous notes, roast. Easy to drink despite the high ABV. Very tasty.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Mitra Tiel. Clear reddish black with a thin beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee and chocolate, with some smoke. Medium sweetness and a nice long bitter finish.

Bottle. A black beer with a small tan head. Coffee made over campfire vibes at first in aroma. Also some chocolate later on. Burnt wood, licorice and bitter cocoa notes in taste. Roasted dark malty and ashy finish. Takes a turn between sweet and bitter this one. Quite nice.

Bottle from de Mitra in Gorinchem. The beer is nearly black colored and pours a red/brown sticky head, with a lot of carbonation. It looks really beautiful in your glass. The aroma is powerfull with tones of roasted and smoked malts, dark chocolate and coffee. The taste is bittersweet with the tones from the aroma. The finish is full bodied, bitter and a little smokey. Wonderfull beer, nothing else to say.

Bottle 33cl. Pitchblack beer with a creamy beige layer of foam. Aroma of smoke, wood, coffee, pure chocolate and metal. The taste is bitter, coffee, and dark chocolate. The aftertaste is long with a lingering bitterness. All the way through the beer there is also a smoky taste. Nice taste. The mouthfeel is almost perfect. Flat to medium carbonation with an almost soft body (just slightly watery). Really nice beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

300 ml bottle from Benzai. Thanks Pours a blackish color with no head. The aroma is mild with cocoa and dark chocolates. The taste features more chocolates, bitter baking chocolate, some acidity and cocoa. The mouthfeel is full and smooth and the carbonation is nearly flat. Finishes long and bitter. Overall: Decent porter.

Thanks to Silvija, bottle from NL.
Excellent porter, I would say peated porter. Pours reddish black with tan beige medium top, medium lasing lasting well. Aroma- dominant peated malt, roasted malt, even some burnt hints, and it continues yeasty, sweet. Maybe some heavy dark chocolate tones. Nice, bitter and sweet taste, thick body, lovely balanced brew with enough character.
