Bottle from de Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Looks great, pouring black with a layer of fading beige froth. Aroma is good too - sweet with treacle and coffee. The taste starts sweet and lightly spicy with liquorice and treacle before coffee, leather and tabacco. Slightly thin in body, but very good.

Bottle. Pours a very deep, dark brown, pretty much black. Small, mocha-colored head. Aroma is roast, ash, smoke, light salty liquorice, slight earthiness. Taste is roast, smoke, liquorice, slight earthyness, some peat. Fairly full.

330 ml bottle shared by Geiserich, thanks!
Black body, with a big, creamy, coffee-colored head.
Aroma of peat, dark chocolate, coffee, toffee, dark fruits.
Taste follows this, but with a bit less peat notes
Medium, a bit creamy mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes smokey, peaty, roasty, quite dry.

Nice one, but nothing special. Too peaty, especially in the nose. Taste is better and a bit more varied. Overall not a great style example, but solid.

0,33l bottle shared by Geiserich at Linz RB Tasting, big thanks. BB 06.01.2017. as Bronckhorster Nightporter 8%. black color, small coffee-colored head. smells dried fruits, raisins, earthy, spices, light sweetness, peat, light wood. nice smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes quite citric / bitter, some peat, ash, roast, spices, sourish. finishes bitter / dry with notes of peat and spices. decent enough beer, peat notes are a bit too present for my liking. overall good though but not overly special.

Bijna zwart bier met minimaal, donkerbruin schuim dat snel verdwijnt. Aroma van geroosterde mouten, koffie en chocolade. Bitter, zoet met licht zuurtje in de nasmaak. Zacht en vol. Lekker!

Bottle bought in Brugge. Black, and no head after a short while. Sweet porter, and potent in this respect. Includes light roasted malts in both aroma and taste. Strong, but doesn’t taste its strength.

Excellent porter style. Combines soft bitterness with tasts of dark coffee and bitter chocolate. Beautiful dark colour in the glass. Accompanies very well with very bitter chocolate or chocolat desserts.,
