Roasted tobacco aroma, dark chocolate, cocoa, licorice notes, coffee, caramel, notes of figs and raisins. Roasted coffee and tar flavor, coffee, cocoa, licorice, dark chocolate, soot notes. Quite heavy beer with lots of flavor. Fullbodied and with a pleasant tobacco and coffee finish. Very nice.

On tap at T’Arendsnest, Amsterdam, Netherlands on Friday 30.09.11 Thick, heavy black beer with a light beige head. There is definately some peatiness going on here, there is also some spirit, though it is not too heavy or overpowering. Nice roasty cappuccino, with some spent coffee grains aplenty. Nice beer. Pours opaque black/brown with a loose brown head. Smell is dark roasted malt, licorice, dark chocolate and a hint of mocha. Taste is bitter chocolate, char, mocha ending dry and slightly bitter...charcoal remaining on the tongue. Body is medium/full and slick with nicely structured carbonation. Overall tons of flavor and a nice drinking stout.
