Bottle on the IOW Jolly, homeward train tasting, thanks to Leighton, deputy Bespin administrator, 24/08/14. Hazed golden orange with moderate off white spotting/edgework. Nose is orange pith, toasted malt, straw, mandarin, bready notes. Taste comprises citric tinged straw, touch of pine resin, bitter orange, mandarin. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Adequate IPA, Hoppage is rather on the conservative side but a drinnkable number none the less.

Had 2 bottles a couple of months ago, but those were both gushers which left hardly anything to taste :( Today I decided to give it another try with some new bottles and I was lucky. An amber coloured beer with an average sized white head which desolves slowly in a lasting lacing. Sweet caramel on the nose and a hint of orange / floral. Taste is also caramel, quite malty but with a citric bitterness in the end. I lacks on the bitterness to be a good IPA, but it certainly is a very nice and enjoyable beer.

330 ml bottle. Pours a golden amber colour with a small white head. Aroma of sweet juicy apricot, some floral notes and caramel. Flavour of strong dry grainy malts, apricot, citrusy bitterness and some mild spiciness. Light bodied, a bit thin mouthfeel and high carbonation. Dry finish. Way too grainy to be enjoyable. Not sure if this is fresh or not. I guess it isn’t.
