MonsterMagnet (464) - NETHERLANDS - FEB 8, 2015
Bottle, batch SCR-195 (bb nov 2015), 8% abv. Pours murky brown with a frothy off-white head. Aroma: medicinal, honey. Taste: berries, nuts, peat, caramel, cocoa, moss. Medium sweet and bitter (3 IBU according to label?!), fairly thin body, long bitter earthy finish. This is a weird beer, one moment it’s good, the next something’s off.

33cl bottle at the Kernel tap room, London, thanks to Leighton. It pours a dark copper color with a medium beige head. Aroma is sweet with notes of caramel, milk chocolate and bread dough. Taste is medium sweet, with more notes of caramel, bread, dried fruits, and spices in the finish. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, ok

Scopey (8397) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 13, 2014
Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours deep hazy red-brown with a decent beige head. The nose is sweet, earth, wood, must, cocoa, dried fruits, caramel and toffee. The taste is bitter-sweet, earth, brown bread, spice, alcohol, citrus peel and damp leaf with a dry, warming finish. Full body and fine carbonation. Not bad.

Leighton (13398) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 13, 2014
Bottle shared at the Kernel. Bottle says 8%. Pours mostly clear, deep amber with a frothy tan head. The nose holds rich bready malts with notes of butterscotch and toffee. Big sweet flavor with toasty bread, earth, toasted caamel, old fruits, leaves, mild butterscotch. Full bodied with average carbonation. Lightly warming to finish, more brown bread, light spices, crackers, dry earth, leaves, lethery berries. Pretty decent.

330ml bottle Appearance: A dark rediish brown going to cola black with a small head, it does leave some nice lacing. Aroma: Faint cardboard, chocolate and vinegar Taste: Luckilly much better as the aroma, Red berries, malts, light vinegar traces, roasted malts, licorice. Allthough there quite some acidic traces, there are alsome sweet traes, after taste is a bit viious with cacao powder. Medium body, below medium carbonation. Ok brew, however the aroma and appearance doesn’t do it justice. Giving it a false start.

33cl bottel at home. Pale brown with a medium somewhat off-white soapy head. Medium body with low carbonation. Nice sweet and bitter tones. Caramel, warming alcohol, spices, malts and dark fruits. A nice dark brew.

BlackHaddock (4593) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - OCT 31, 2014
330ml bottle (8% ABV): BBD 6 Nov 15, poured at home into a Westmalle chalice on 31 Oct 14 and shared with no one. Would have been a clear deep brown body, but I allowed the sediment to leave the bottle, so we had a dirty, reddy brown body with a wispy, thin, off-white topping. The beer did not seem to lose any of it’s mistiness as time passed, it stayed cloudy throughout the tasting. Off wine and slightly vinegar nose and taste: infected? Some caramel, malty sweetness evident through the initial disappointment , this carried on into the taste, but again the wine/vinegar came through. I had been saving this for a special ’Dutch tasting evening’ (with myself), wish I hadn’t bothered, what a let down.

Weak aroma. Some belgian esters only. The flavour is much better. Plums, raisins, caramel and belgian esters. Not the best but fairly good.
