3.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very little carbonation but nice lightly fizzy mouthfeel, as enchanting plum, chocolate and cedar flavors and touch of sweetness yield to a stiffening frame of hops. This is a really unique beer that is a style of its own. Purchased at De Bierkoning in Amsterdam and quaffed at home in Madison.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Gouda winterbierfest. Deep amber brown pour, bubbly green-yellow head, strange color. Aroma is quite grassy, really hoppy, nice rich maltiness as well, light molasses, somewhat reminiscent of an Alesmith malt profile. Tasty, sweet and bitter, licorice/molasses maltiness, bitter hoppy finish. Full bodied but with good carbonation, quite drinkable. Quite tasty winter warmer.

Muddy color. Tardy and surprisingly dry. Fruity, with a bit of smokey peatedness. Weird beer.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a dark reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma of malts, caramel, dark fruits, especially cherry, hops. Flavour is light sour, light woody/smoked. Bitter fruity aftertaste. Complex and interesting, but not for me. I found the fruity sweetness a bit harsh.
