Draft at Gouda 20th Winterbierfestival. Cloudy amber color, thin white edge head. Aroma is bright, fruity, vanilla, subtle citrus. Taste is sweet vanilla, toffee, light spice, summer fruit. I think this was my favorite of the festival.

bierkoning (9829) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - JAN 24, 2013
UPDATED: JAN 27, 2013 Sample from tap @ the brewery. Amber color. Herbal aroma (cardemon, anis) with oaky notes. Medium to full bodied. Boozy and alcoholic, herbal, some dried fruit. Hints of bourbon overshadowed by strong herbal notes. Good already, but needs more time to fully develop. Bottle. Amber color. Dried fruit, bourbon and parsnip in the aroma. Less pronounced herbal as the non barrel aged version. Malty sweet, boozy bourbon flavor with soft herbal notes. Parsnip and cinnamon in the finish.

Bottle shared by Kyle, thanks! Pours a clear deep amber with a gray head that starts at the edges and remains. Aroma has a combination of sweet grains with a nice bourbon note and nice vanilla. Flavor has a really nice bourbon note throughout with sweet grains and caramel.

caesar (4716) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - MAR 9, 2014
Bottled, batch TIBA - 135, BB 18 June 2025, large sample. Clear amber color, very short head, merely some lacing. Aroma of oak wood, apple, hint of vanilla, caramel, raisin, white wine, cognac. Quite interesting, not really what I expected, but still quite nice. Quite boozy flavor, some sweetness of caramel and vanilla, some bitterness, a hint of apply sourness. Again, quite different from my expectations, but a very nice sipper. Really fruity.
