1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 Beershine (5173) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - JUL 22, 2012
Bottle in hotel in Kamianets-Podlinsky, where the ready availability of "M" beer is so great there is really no excuse to buy such swill. The color is quite a dark shade of gold. There is nary a head. The aroma is of soured cereal malts, and fruit turned bad. The palate is not overly sticky and rather light, making it surprisingly drinkable. The lingering flavors are stale mushy corn flakes with a hint of sour fruit. A tolerable swill.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 Rune (6125) - Tromsř, NORWAY - JUL 27, 2009
500ml bottle, 4.9% abv, picked up from a kiosk in Zaporizhzhya and drunk on the cruise ship from Yalta to Odessa. Straw-golden body. Quickly diminishing white head. Pale malty smell. Mid-sweet grainy taste with a harsh lemony finish. Not a great one, however, quite refreshing. Ordinary in a Svitle context (Black Sea, 14.07.2009).
2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 yngwie (10760) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAR 31, 2009
Bottle. It pours a crystal clear, slightly pale golden body with a nice, two-finger white head. Grainy nose with some fruity notes. A touch of hops, and slightly doughy. The flavor is quite dry, with a decent bitterness. Malty sweetness shines through, along with some dough and fruityness. Thin body with pleasant carbonation. A quite decent one, and it’s almost quenching. There’s a disturbing grainy flavor though. (090313)
