22 ounce bottle thanks to Errl. Pours a hazy copper with a thin, creamy head of white foam. The aroma has some spices and fruity notes coming through. Sweet initially in the taste, but dries out quickly and finishes on the floral bitter side.

Bottle:   Dirty amber, moderate haze, medium sized frothy sandy head, spotty lacing.   Faint rubbery aroma.   Reminds me of Sake yeast.   Has a stale bike tire air like flavor.   Not much about this is musty or barnish, or even like most Biere de Gardes I have had.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Its a little chewy, low carbonation, with lingering stale maltiness.   Has a smidgen of mountain shrubbiness.   Slight soily and earthy notes linger.   Reminds me of some of the experimental stuff from Epic Ales in Seattle.   Not a fan of this one.   Thanks Bill!

651 ml. bottle. Pours an enormous rapidly collapsing white head, with some lacing, over a clear amber (SRM 12) body.....nose is toffee/caramel, hints of light dried fruits.....taste is sweet with toffee/caramel, raisin, finishing with a light dry spice-hop bitterness.....mouth feel light of medium, sticky, minimal astringency, carbonation high, with light acid finish. This falls well within the style, but lacks the malt complexity found in the best. I think it would benefit from a slightly more complex malt bill including some non fermentables to improve mouth feel. BJCP 8/3/15/4/7

Bomber poured a clear amber with a small; lingering amber head. Aromas of carmel, cardomom, clove and light yeast. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of ca rmel, cardomom and light earthiness with a smooth dry lingering cardomom finish.

Slightly cloudy amber, scant head. Nose is leather, spice and yeast. Bittersweet. Middle is caramel malt, sweet fruit. Finish has a metallic tang & dry finish. Interesting.

Off-white head; amber. Light aroma of hay, caramel, and wet animal hair. Kind of thin flavor; a little yeasty and bitter and light malt profile. Light-medium body. Decent brew, but a little thin.
