COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gigantophis was once a beast that could swallow you whole. But fast forward 40 million years and the roles are reversed. Like its prehistoric namesake, there is nothing small about Gigantophis Imperial IPA. We used 2 1/2 pounds of hops per barrel to achieve over 100 IBU in this 9% monster. Bursting with citrus, pine and earthy notes in the aroma and flavor, Gigantophis finishes with a touch of French oak to round out the whole experience. Hop lovers and paleontologists unite! This is the journey you have been waiting for. Ideally served at 50 - 55°F.

Bomber poured a clkear reddish amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of diacytal, carmel, citrus, eartrhiness and light pine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of diacytal, carmel, earthiness, grapefruit and light pione with a smooth dry moderatly bitter lingering diacytal finish. Not very good, Hopper has it right.

22 oz. bottle picked up a two days after it landed in SA at Gabriels Superstore. Pours a hazy amber color. The aroma is spicy, some fruit, but it’s really odd. It almost smells like a spiced beer. The taste is to be honest, brutal. The beginning is sweet, and fruity with a spicy middle. Though that is masked by a bad sourness. It has an unclean finish that makes this beer hard to drink. This reminds me of when I go to a bar that has dirty taplines. It’s pretty much the same thing. Maybe they are not sanitizing to the fullest extent. I bought two with the intent of sending the other as an extra which I won’t be doing.

Pours dark amber with small off white head. Hoppy aroma with a strong hint of citrus. First taste you get is of the citrus and then followed by smooth hops. Very good beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: APR 3, 2013 Aroma of grapefruit, pine, with a smattering of sweet caramel. A cloudy copper pour with no head or lacing. The taste is a surprise. I was expecting a hop bomb but initially there is malt and caramel followed by pine in the middle with a nice bitter/astringent aftertaste. Nice juxtaposition of flavors. Medium body with medium carbonation. Smooth mouth feel up front and fizzy-bitter on the finish. Overall, I really liked this beer! More going on here than just blow your head off hops. Nice work Rogness!

Excellent IPA: beautiful color, nice hopiness, sweet aftertaste. I sincerely hope that Rogness makes many more craft brewed ales for us all to try! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber. Pours hazy medium gold with a small white head. Faint musty nose. Taste is a bit different from other IIPA’s-a hint of perfume, some oaky mustiness, nice malty backbone, and a strong bitterness on the end. Not a typical hop bomb by any chance. Full body. Loses a few points on aroma.

Bottle from RS Food Mart. Orange brown pour with an off-white head. Aroma is citrus, caramel, and sweet. Taste is awkward grapefruit, caramel, and a weird super sappiness. Good finish, though.
