All floral and herbal, dang! Smells like a flower garden. Looks nice with a deep golden/amber hue and a yellowish-white head. Finishes malty with all kinds of flowers mixed in with chocolate and barely malt biscuit.

Pours a clear deep amber color with a medium white head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Floral aroma with citrus and malt notes. Light-bodied with flavors of herbal yeast, slightly funky lemons and toasted malt. The finish is fruity with an herbal yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

Easily the best beer I’ve had from them so far. Poured a medium amber. Head was strong to begin but faded before the end of the bottle. Slightly dry with some nice esthers.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Spec’s - Holcombe, 4/22/14

Aroma: The nose is heavy spice, plenty of pepper, coriander, lots of lavender, and some yeast
Appearance: It pours a gusher, murky dark orange color with a thick, frothy beige head
Flavor: The pepper is a little less overwhelming in the flavor, but it is still very present, the lemon zest comes through a bit more, there’s a big lavender presence, and some other spices as well
Palate: The body of this one is medium, it has a spicy/tingly feel, and a soft, dry finish
Overall Impression: I found this one to be pretty interesting for sure, but also pretty weird. There’s a lot of spice and a lot of lavender here. I mean a ton. Also, it pours out almost a gusher, with a huge head, but somehow isn’t overly carbonated. Weird stuff. Worth trying, but weird for sure.

D&Q Mini Mart, Houston 650ml: Pours a sort of hazy orange color with a white head. Aroma is spicy, citrus, a bit funky, and a little sweet and malty. Of course, this is a summer ale, and it seems as though this got a little maltier with time, but the saison flavors were still pretty strong, and I would argue that the beer didn’t suffer for it. The spice, flowers, and citrus are all in effect, coupled with a nice hoppy dryness.

Bottle:   Hazy amber, bright and fiery, huge pillowy sandy head, nice lacing.   Assertive lavender is the first thing, and maybe the last thing you get on the aroma.   Lets just say, certainly floral on the nose.   Barnish and sweet up front, then immediately followed by a strong floral/lavender background.   Faint lemon notes.   Gets a little soapy at times.   Almost too fragrant.   Bubbley on the tongue, body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Bordering on urinal cake like aromatics at times.   Decent, but could stand be a bit more subtle.   Thanks Bill!
