Really nice porter with no extra bells or whistles. Mild bitter hops compliment the sweet chocolatey malt.

Bomber. Pours black and thick with a small tan head. Big coffee/chocolate/roasty nose-nice. Taste is the same with a full rich body. Just a bit of a fade on the end. Well done for a young brewery.

A good very drinkable though dry porter. Solid stuff, chocolate, anise, molasses. Black and rich looking. I did the bomber, but that was still a lot of porter.
Slight smoke, a very good roastiness. Smooth mouthfeel. Bottle from Steve beerenberger.

On draft at Nobi Public .. . Pours a very deep brown black .. . Medium foam .. . Deep roasted malts and black earth .. . Very well balanced porter .. . . Yeah? Rock and roll is fast, you know? If all goes according to plan, I could be in rehab next Thursday. Tuesday week, I’ll be living on an island with a small Indian boy.

This is one roasted black monster of a porter, at least in appearance, boasting a rich, medium-brown head. It looks especially bad in an English Pint glass. It smells of rich, roasted malts, with more roasted coffee grounds than chocolate and a touch of caramel candy. It smells about as expected for the style, but a little deeper and slightly more complex than your average porter.
In the mouth it’s a little too thin on the palate, though, offering a warm, bitter overall experience rather than a full, enjoyably rich, thick and roasted flavor. It seems like it’s too thin for the heavy amount of roast. Had this been a little thicker, the heavy roasted bitterness would be easier to handle. And if this didn’t have such a bitter roasted malt flavor it would be a very easy to drink and enjoyable, light porter. It seems to be on the fence between two worlds and is a little awkward because of it.
Although it has somewhat of an enjoyably dry, roasted finish, it’s the excessive bitterness in the finish that kills the overall experience. I’d like to blame it on the hops, but I can’t at only 46 IBU. I drank this at the 50 degrees as suggested by Rogness, but I’m thinking this might be better colder. The bitterness just isn’t that good at warmer temperatures with this low of an ABV.

Black with a decent tan head. Aroma is like being packed away in a cardboard box full of packing peanuts in the attic for a few days...and roasted malts. Taste is of roasted malts, toast, like chewing on a chalkboard, coffee.

Bottle thanks to secret Santa! Pours black with a dark brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a strong roasted malt note with a bit of coffee and underlying bitter dark chocolate. Flavor starts with strong roasted malts and dark chocolate but finishes with dark coffee and a good amount of dryness.
