Very nice amber. Orangish red with an off white head. Aroma is grainy and lemon. Taste is malty and lemony. Amber is not my favorite style, but this is nice. Unnecessary bitter finish is the only thing that throws me off.

4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Fatehunter (794) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - JUN 3, 2013
Poured two fingers of head on a hazy, dark red colored body.
The aroma is dry grain and little lemon.
The taste is complex with a nice malt side. Lemon bitter but the malt is the star; barnyardish taste but good.
The texture is smooth with moderate carbonation.
It’s certainly more flavorful and interesting than most amber ales.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this as I’m not usually one for amber ales. This was a lot sweeter than I expected. Plenty of biscuit and caramel with the malts and some hops. Quite light.

Bready aroma and a hint of coffee. Pours clear darkish amber with a substantial white head. Tastes dark and chocolaty, almost like a porter but with a lingering bitterness. Decent mouthfeel but not a lot of carbonation.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 JCB (3862) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - MAY 16, 2013
Had this one a bazillion times over the years. As American ambers go, it’s among the more balanced and inviting. Hazy amber pour, with leafy hops and caramel notes in the nose. Taste is blessedly free of the cloying malts that overload so many examples of the style. This one’s got the candy, but there’s a ripe and herbal quality to it that balances things out. Not bad.

Marrom bem avermelhada. Boa formação de espuma, com media persistência. Aroma de malte torrado, caramelo, frutado, passas. Sabor de malte tostado, médio dulçor e baixo amargor.
