3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
A dark amber pour with a nice frothy tan head. Nutty roasted malt aroma. Fairly thin beer for something this dark. Flavor is a mix of toasty malt and light grapefruit pith bitterness and floweriness from the hops. A bit sour as well, but makes it that much smoother. Lingering bitter sting like that of a grapefruit. Almost like a darker English Bitter with American hops. Decent session.

Vielleicht etwas überbewertet. Kommt sehr Spritzig aus der Flasche und behält dann eine schöne, stabile Schaumkrone. Und dann ...... ?

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Very nice dark polished copper... crystal clear ... good 3/4" long lasting head leaves descent lacing.
aroma leans toward the spicy/citrus hops.. good toasted malt presence with pronounced caramel.
Flavor is not nearly as malty as the smell... lighter body than expected.. toasted/toffee malts and yeast fruitiness melts into cascade and spicy hop notes... interesting take on the style... not exactly all American.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Review based on the BJCP015 guidelines (style 19A). Bottle 35cl - Batch unknown. AROMA: moderate, almost prominent hop roma with notes of floral, slight citric and some pine nature. mild fruitiness is perceived as slight orange. balanced sweet malt background with a toasty and caramelly character. APPEARANCE: ambar to dark ambar color and somewaht clear. Medium ivory head with medium to medium-low retention. FLAVOR: a blend of malt and hops with medium to medium low intensity, ranging from a malty sweet, biscuity, caramelly flavor and a floral and fruity hops. medium to medium-high bitterness that lingers beyond a semi-dry finish. the balance is almost even but tiltet towards a fruity hop resence. PALATE: medium-low body with medium carbonation. no astringency. OVERALL: a good american amber ale with a balance between malt and hops, but still a tiny bit tilted towards hops. a nice example of marriage between the two ingredients.
