cryfreedmb (102), Ocean, New Jersey, USA Aug 24, 2008 Had this at Brickwall Tavern in Asbury. VERY malty. Not the first time I had this but this time it was really lacking any hops. I didn’t mind it but there are many other ambers that I would drink before it. Not sure if I had a bad bottle or what but I didn’t enjoy this brew as much as I thought. Overall, decent but somewhat of a disappointment. Stew41 (862), Caulfield, Australia Aug 16, 2008 Great stuff this. To my palate an American take on the amber ale style. Wonderfully clean and well defined hop aromas, underpinned by some mild caramel malts. Palate is near identical, albeit the malts fade further and are replaced by a slightly aggressive bitter finish. I enjoyed this a lot. JustinFromAL (55), Birmingham, Alabama, USA Aug 13, 2008 Bottle. Pours a reddish copper color with a bit of a tan head. I love the malty hoppiness in this beer. Does a lot without getting to bitter. Pretty tasty and widely available. NomDeBeer (135), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Aug 11, 2008 My bottle was really cloudy and hazy with a light amber color. Nice hoppiness here - more than I expected anyway. Caramel malt sweetness. Nothing really remarkable about this one, but it is very drinkable so I’ll give it credit for that. nqualls (185), Tennessee, USA Aug 7, 2008 12 oz bottle. Poured a clear copper color with a minimal white head. Sweet malt and chocolate dominate the aroma. Chocolate, roasted malt and toffee are the flavors. This beer is just south of heavy. Decent.
