Bottle. Cloudy dark amber, almost brown, pour with a big head. Nice hop aroma and flavor with a little roastedness thrown in. Pretty good.

Aug 16, 2008 Great stuff this. To my palate an American take on the amber ale style. Wonderfully clean and well defined hop aromas, underpinned by some mild caramel malts. Palate is near identical, albeit the malts fade further and are replaced by a slightly aggressive bitter finish. I enjoyed this a lot.

Aug 13, 2008 Bottle. Pours a reddish copper color with a bit of a tan head. I love the malty hoppiness in this beer. Does a lot without getting to bitter. Pretty tasty and widely available.

Aug 11, 2008 My bottle was really cloudy and hazy with a light amber color. Nice hoppiness here - more than I expected anyway. Caramel malt sweetness. Nothing really remarkable about this one, but it is very drinkable so I’ll give it credit for that.

Aug 7, 2008 12 oz bottle. Poured a clear copper color with a minimal white head. Sweet malt and chocolate dominate the aroma. Chocolate, roasted malt and toffee are the flavors. This beer is just south of heavy. Decent.

Aug 5, 2008 £6 birthday treat bottle at The Criterion, Leicester. Octo insisted. Earthy Cascade and boiled caramel sweetness on the snout. A bit damp and earthy, with a hint of sickbowl. Murky red amber heaped with beige. Caramelised and earthy with a touch of Twiglet/Marmite yeastiness and some faintly perfumey hops. Teaspoon of bile. Equal parts Belgian, English and American dullness. Really ordinary.
