spikester (410), Salem, Oregon, USA Apr 30, 2008 I should rate this lower as it is too hopped for an Amber but I enjoyed it. Good APA type though. Poured amber with modest head and some lacings.
Big citrus hop flavor with malts playing second fiddle. Bitter dry finish, slight metallic sensation on back of the tongue.
Aroma is floral.
Tessic (376), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Sep 3, 2008 This ale poured a deep copper colour with a nice, creamy tan coloured head that disappeared fast. To the nose there are scents of pine and hopps, juniper berries and a little malt. First taste was creamy with good carbonation and just the right amount of hopps to add a decent bitter value. The finish was just that with a nice creamy malt flavour. The palate was hoppy with a perfect bitterness to finish it off. kpresley77 (71), Jackson, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2008 Bottle pours beautiful hazy amber with very small white head that quickly disapates. Aroma is faint flower and citrius hops with roasted malt backing. Flavor is hops at first then slight sweetness comes in and balances out perfect. There is a slight linger of hops burn. The carbonation is perfect and this is a all around good Amber. cryfreedmb (102), Ocean, New Jersey, USA Aug 24, 2008 Had this at Brickwall Tavern in Asbury. VERY malty. Not the first time I had this but this time it was really lacking any hops. I didn’t mind it but there are many other ambers that I would drink before it. Not sure if I had a bad bottle or what but I didn’t enjoy this brew as much as I thought. Overall, decent but somewhat of a disappointment. Stew41 (867), Caulfield, Australia Aug 16, 2008 Great stuff this. To my palate an American take on the amber ale style. Wonderfully clean and well defined hop aromas, underpinned by some mild caramel malts. Palate is near identical, albeit the malts fade further and are replaced by a slightly aggressive bitter finish. I enjoyed this a lot. JustinFromAL (55), Birmingham, Alabama, USA Aug 13, 2008 Bottle. Pours a reddish copper color with a bit of a tan head. I love the malty hoppiness in this beer. Does a lot without getting to bitter. Pretty tasty and widely available.
