Very pleasant aroma has some liquorice and nice hops. The hops are in balance in the flavor -is emphasized in a nice bite at the end-. There’s also liquorice and nuts. Nice beer.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 7, 2010 Draft @ Monster B’s. Clear, clean American amber. Rather average amber beer and one of the weaker beers from the Rogue family. creative_free (9), Wellington, New Zealand does not count | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 6, 2010 On tap: I couldn’t smell much of an aroma in the bar surroundings. Dark amber colour, small head. Enjoyable balance of hops and malt. Rich with notes of chocolate and fruit balanced out by the hop bitterness. yalnikim (786), Wellington, New Zealand

Rich caramel malt with fruit and nut chocolate characters. Balanced bitterness draws you in for another draught. I’m not sure how old this beer is but it does lack a little hop sparkle and fresh punchiness on the nose... still delicous though. It’s richness makes it closer to an ESB than an American Pale Ale. This beer may well have tipped the scales in a little argument that I’ve been having with myself.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 22, 2009 Draught at The Local Taphouse, Sydney.Appears dark copper with a laced beige head. Rich toffee malts, caramel, coffee, nuts and fruity hops. Heaps of flavour coming through and truly compliments the overall balance of this beer. True US style amber ale with a smooth hoppy finish. Very nice and has a welcomed freshness from the keg, which I’ve noticed with other Rogue ales. Gravelle (100), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Dec 21, 2009 Rich amber in colour. Smells of fresh brewed coffee. On pour has a tight head. Finishes with roasted malts, with a lingering of hops. imdownthepub (5191), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 16, 2009 Bottled, 355ml from Bellingers Garage, Grove, Oxon. Reddish amber with white head. Sweetish malts dominate this beer with a light, roasty fruity character, some apricot, peachy notes, then a light hop giving an even fruitier depth. Decent and drinkable.
