COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Beard beer is brewed with a yeast created from Brewmaster John Maierís beard. No need to freak out, brewers have used wild yeasts in beer making for centuries. John has had the same old growth beard since 1978 and for over 15,000 brews, so it is no great surprise that a natural yeast ideal for brewing was discovered in his beard. What does beard beer taste like? try it, we think youíll be surprised...

Bottle at a tasting. Saisony Belgian spicy element to this beer, otherwise it stays pretty clean. Simple honeyish malt base and no excessive hops in the way. Quite good.

Hazy yellow colour with white head. Smells fruity, yeast, light and sweet. Has good carbonation, tastes sweet and a good balance of hops and yeasts. Easy to drink but not very special.

660ml bottle shared by Cuso at Bratislava RB Tasting, uhm, big thanks I guess (lets see :P). amber hazy color, small white head. smells fruity, plums, light currant notes, a bit citric. OKish smell. medium body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of fruits, spices, citric, some yeast, grass. finishes lightly bitter with some citric notes. decent enough, liked the taste better than the smell, overall OK.

Hey, I have a beard. Poured from a 22 ounce bomber. Big fruity esters throughout, sweet caramel malty notes, soft Bready character. Light oxidized notes. Belgian like.

Tap @ Barcade w/ Erica. Dark golden caramel looking pour, no head or lacing whatsoever. Nose is candy-like Belgian yeasts. Light or maybe medium mouthfeel carries notes of yeast, banana... finishes rather quickly, not a squatter.

DMís BB30/6/16 from the importer. Golden, low bubbles, bath ring head. Yeasty, spice, mild orange citrus, rye bread, sweet, really sweet. Not unpleasant though not much more. The beer will sell, no doubt, probably for novelty reasons, itís not bad, but really.... whatís next?..... and do we really want to taste it.....the mind boggles!

Bottle. My first from this brewery for a long time. Slightly hazy orange appearance. Fruity pleasant aroma with a fruity flavour that lingers on the taste buds.Hard to classify this one-just file under nice.

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2015 Hazy amber, off-white head. Orchard fruit (and some vegetables too), vaguely "Belgian", moderate spicy bitterness, a touch of alcohol. Feels like those "Belgian blondes", just not the best of them.

Pours a hazy golden color, off white head. Aroma of orange zest, coriander. Taste is sweet, with notes of molasses. Underlying citrus notes throughout, finishing with lingering notes of coriander. Very soft carbonation, creamy texture. Very unique beer, worth trying.
