Hazy deep gold beer, tidy white head. Smooth palate with a trailing minerally crisp bite. Wheaty malt, light malt cream. Light dry citric orange and lemon. Semi dry finish. Comes over as an okay wheat beer.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at Rogue in Newport. Cloudy dull yellow body with a thin off-white head. Aroma has a lot of dried orange peel and pear esters with a small dose of musty basement and drywall powder. Medium body with a syrupy texture. Sweet sugar candies with light hints of cardamom / coriander almost suggest witbier, funny enough. Syrupy and filmy finish. Musty and a bit funky. Nothing really distinct about the yeast strain other than how quiet it is compared to Pacman.

Bomber from Capone’s shared at Craft Ale House Terrific Tuesday. Poured hazy daek golden with off-white head. Nose was hopcitrus, pale malt, florals and some sweetness. Tasted hopcitric, with notes of pale malt, hops, citrus, and a floral fruity finish. Pretty complex, and pretty damned delicious.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber. Poured clear, bright golden with a short-lived white head. The aroma picked up white pepper, cloves, and lemon zest over light bready malts and some darker sugars I couldn’t quite place.. didn’t seem all that cohesive. The flavor found lightly syrupy honey and bready malts at the core, with lemon zest, cloves, and a bit of pepper around.. a few too many residual sugars along with Belgian-y yeast notes on the finish (didn’t know John was Belgian). Lighter-bodied with high-ish carbonation on the palate.. a touch cloying at times, but otherwise it flowed smoothly.. creamy carbonation.. not bad.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sample at Rogue Ales Distillery & Public House (as Beard Beer). So made with beard yeast? Yum. Pours a hazy dark yellow color with a thin white head that dissipates to a wispy film. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt and citrus. Full-bodied with flavors of citrusy hops, sweet malt and ripe fruit. The finish is syrupy with a honey and fruit aftertaste. Above average overall.
