From a guy’s BEARD? Too wild! I love it! Pours a beautiful, slightly hazy golden with a fairly thick and fluffy buff head. Aroma is mainly yeasty - no beard smell, thankfully ;) - with a fruity underpinning and a hint of fresh malt. Mouth-filling flavor pleases with fruity, yeasty, woody and malt notes. Finish is yeasty with a hint of hoppy bitterness, while texture is firm and somewhat fizzy. OK, what’s next for Rogue?

22oz bottle. hazy gold beer with a swirling, angry, carbonation bubbles and a small, stable white head. aroma of tropical pineapple fruity hops, vanilla, lemon. a dry finishing beer with a clean aftertaste. the aggressive carbonation appearance in the glass actually palates quite nice. flavor is lightly sweet from cakey, doughy, malt flavors and tropical hop notes and yeast. who knew maiers beard was belgian! turns out really good.

On draught at Rogue Brewer’s on the Bay. Light in color for a barleywine but sweet honey syrup flavor with a nice hoppiness.

Pours amber with a small head. Nose shows doughy Belgian yeast notes and bready wheat along with pear-like esters and banana. Equally refreshing flavours. More pear notes and doughy wheat along with some sweet malt and peppery notes. Amazingly refreshing. Could use a bit more carbonation.

This tastes mostly like the Recent hybrid beer people were doing, the Belgian pale.light and bubbly with some fruitiness before a relatively dry finish.

Bomber. Aroma is full of Belgian yeast aromatics: clove, pepper, banana, barnyard funk, dust, lemon. Pours slightly hazy orange with a medium reducing white head. Taste isn’t as impressive as the aroma, but still good. It’s lightly sweet, finishing dry with some slight hoppiness. Body is medium, texture a little watery, carbonation high. Nice beard, err, beer. Puns--yeah, baby!

Sample at Rogue Ales Distillery & Public House (as Beard Beer). So made with beard yeast? Yum. Pours a hazy dark yellow color with a thin white head that dissipates to a wispy film. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt and citrus. Full-bodied with flavors of citrusy hops, sweet malt and ripe fruit. The finish is syrupy with a honey and fruit aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bomber from Capone’s shared at Craft Ale House Terrific Tuesday. Poured hazy daek golden with off-white head. Nose was hopcitrus, pale malt, florals and some sweetness. Tasted hopcitric, with notes of pale malt, hops, citrus, and a floral fruity finish. Pretty complex, and pretty damned delicious.
