"Looks like carbonated blackberry juice. Woody boozy fruity aroma. Lots of oak. Flavor is slightly tart, but mostly sweet fruit, wood, and barrel effect. Pretty nice beer. Canít find the specs on it, but tastes pretty strong. Iíve love to see the type of barrel used as well."

Dark amber, with opaque and red note, and a caramel head. Absolutely exquisite aromatic synthesis of juicy blackberries and baked crystal malts. The body is of a lovely current of carbonated blackberry liquor with a wonderful barley backbone. Nuanced barrel-aged notes contribute fillips of complexity. An altogether, delicious, delightful, and splendidly balanced beer with well executed, and restrained, desserty touches.

Bottled Pours dark ruddy brown with a etching of light tans. Smells like apple skins, mostly smells like apple skins. Then there is a smell of soil and some grass. Taste is sweet, berries, sweet, so sweet. There is a bit of watered down oxidized grain. Thin bodied with moderately low carb and a dry finish. I think this is well, um, not very good.

Ordered from Rogueís online store
Poured into a big ass stemmed goblet
Aroma - clean, blackberry and oak/bourbon, light alcohol
Appearance - Little to no head; cloudy, likely from the fruit; color is anywhere from ruby to purple to brown, depending on light intensity and width of glass
Taste - beautiful blend of blackberries and oak, with a nice blackberry candy sweetness that is perfectly balanced at the finish with a light hop bitterness
Palate - smooth, medium-to-full body mouth feel, medium carbonation; a blackberry sweetness complemented by light oak overtones covers the palate and then fades, lingering just enough to meet the light hop bitterness in the finish
Overall - Excellent, world-class fruit beer. Also an outstanding example of an oak-aged beer, not overdone in the least

Very strong berry notes. Sweet but not particularly so. Barrel aging is nearly imperceptible in flavor. Overall, not very complex, yet tasty, drinkable and good. B/B- ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750-ml bottle. Dark copper color. Balanced blackberry syrup aroma with light oak and dark roasted malt. The taste features light tart blackberry (but not overpowering), licorice, heavier wood tones than the nose suggest, and a caramel flourish at the finish. Slick palate with an alternating sweet/tart finish; low carbonation. Not bad.

Pours reddish dark brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, dried fruits and blackberries. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long malty and blackberry finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle, 75cl corked. Was a bitch to crack open this one, the cork broke. But easily solved of course. It pours a clear-looking dark amber to reddish brown body and a small, dense, light beige head. The aroma has a berry touch, with some roasted malts and a hint of dried fruits. A bit anonymous, but sure nice. Be sure to spend some time sniffing and sipping, as it opens up and grows on you. Thereís some chocolate too, and a faint cellar touch. The same goes for the flavor, it starts of a tad boring, but grows and grows, adding layers as you sip, even a little bitterness to deal with the sweetness. Itís sweet, but far from sticky. Full body, soft carbonation and a faint warmth. Lasting finish. The berries arenít very evident, but sure there, with itís soft acidity and dark fruityness. Anyway, this is most certainly the best blackberry beer Iíve had. 130810
