[2/13/15] Draught at Rogue Ales Public House in San Francisco. Black with a brown head. Aroma of roast, coffee and dark chocolate. Bitter roasty flavor with coffee, some dark chocolate and quite a bit of piney/resinous hops. Quite full-bodied.

Bottle. Pours black with tan head. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, a little heat, sweet. Taste is bitter in the back and finish, medium to full-bodied, a drinkable barrel stout. Overall, good flavor, rich but drinkable, very good.

ARH (1113) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 21, 2014
On tap, poured into a sampler glass. The aroma is bourbon caramel, with some noteable roasty, woody character. The beer’s body is dark and opaque and topped by a soapy, thick, tan ring head with a small island. Heavy lace is left along the glass. The taste is a medium high bitter and light medium sweet combination. The viscous beer has a full malty and boozy body with a light and smooth carbonation. It’s remarkably dry with a woody and burnt flavor along with a light chocolate, coffee, caramel, and alcohol finish. The aftertaste is lingering with a waxy and bitter burnt woody character.

Salmoniform (1272) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - OCT 19, 2014
Poured from tap to glass. Dark hue with thick brown head that lingered. Aroma is toffee, chocolate, oak, coffee, roast, ethanol, slight cola, molasses. Mouthfeel is great with a medium body and soft carbonation. Taste is sweet (but not cloying) with a wood tannin dryness & ethanol finish. Overall this is a VERY nice brew, and is drinking well right now.

Corked bottle pours inky black with a creamy tan head. Aroma of coffee and dark roasted malts. Taste is toasty with flavors of oak, espresso, vanilla and dark chocolate. Nice bold bitterness. Big thick mouth feel. Great oak aged impy stout!

Fad: Sortbrun øl med et lille skumhoved. Duften er let fadlagret og let brændt. Smagen er bitter og integrerer ikke fadlagringen så øllen kommer ikke helt op at ringe. Ellers ok øl.

Very distinctive taste that may require an acquired taste! Very good beer overall. Pours a dark amber with very little bourbon aromas. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Oh so very good, and dare I say, worth the expensive price. Rogue never fails to impress me.
