On tap at Mahars. Dissapointing for the style. Not nearly enough body and the flavor wasn’t very strong.

Draught > Flying Saucer. Ehh, not bad. This is pretty hoppy but not IPA hoppy. Reminds me of a ESB more than a schwarzbier. I wonder if the description above is correct?

Pours black, opaque with tan head. Chocolate and coffee in the nose. Roasty, dry chocolate flavors balances well with hop flavor and bitterness. Has a nice creamy palate. Super tasty. On tap at The Shep’.

UPDATED: SEP 3, 2008 On tap at the Drafting room. Strong aroma of roasted coffee. Very thick mouthfeel, deep malty flavor.

Poured amber with a white head. Aroma of hops. Not much to smell. Damn did this thing finish bitter. Some hops, citrus, and fruit. Rather sweet, but finished bitter.

On tap @ Brew Kettle. Darkest brown appearance. Strong flavors of roasted malts and hints of licorice, with an assertively bitter finish. Does not pair well with wasabi mustard.

I thought that this could have been a bit more hoppy, but it was still good. I would like to try it a bt warmer.

Dark brown, nice tan head. Some decent hops in the aroma, coupled with a solid array of sweet, malty notes. Flavor is a nice combination of sweet and bitter. Good hop presence, interestingly paired with a solid chocolate/roasted malt character. Not sure that this is a Schwarzbier, but good regardless.

On dreaft at Monk’s in Phily. Called Rogue Anniversary Black Brutal "Bitter". Reddish brown w/very think foamy head; aroma is hoppy w/ hint of sweetness; hops dominate the flavor but there are some roasty and sweet notes; the palate is think and creamy; finish is dry/hoppy.
