COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brutal combines Oregon hops with English Malts. The Oregon grown Crystal hop is a triploid variety developed from the German Hallertau aroma hop variety with contributions from Cascade, Brewers Gold, and Early Green. Crystal is the only hop used in brewing Brutal and it provides a massive amount of aroma without dry-hopping. The English malts used are floor malted Pipkin (a mellow cross of Maris Otter and Warboys, from an English company called Beeston), Cara Vienna and Cara Wheat.

Pours a cloudy orange with thick white head. Aroma is pleasant of hops and citrus, but surprisingly not strong. Taste isn’t what I expected in the strength or mouthfeel, but a decent brew nonetheless. I will be looking for a FRESH version of this to see if I just got an older batch.

22oz bottle from Evanston, WY. Pours a cloudy orange color with a large foamy white head. The aroma is very nice; loads of ripe hops, citrus and some marmalade. The flavor is similar; a light bitter hop initially, rich citrus hops, some light fruitiness, marmalade and lemon zest. Very nice. A smooth and full mouthfeel. A great example of the style.

Pours a slighly cloudy amber colour with a foamy white head. Aroma is of citrusy hops. Taste is wonderful - full-bodied, sweetness of fruit masks the mild spiciness from the alcohol. Absolutely delicious.

Nothing sweet about this drink. Hardly tastes like beer, little carbonation, like eating coco without sugar, or a cracker without salt. Kind of a no taste sour with soaked with green bark. No bite at all. Don’t know what happened. I generally like this type of beer.

650ml Bottle from the LCBO. Long lasting head. Bitter, but not too bitter. Hops are balanced perfectly with some distinct fruit flavors. A great beer.

Hazy light rusty orangy brown pour with a really nice bubble filled head. Flowery. Reminds me of something... christmas... wth? No I’ve got it, christmas trees, real live ones. It smells of pine. Very distinct taste. Very cleansing. Feels like it’s washing my mouth out of all inferior tastes. What a nice beer. I generally am not a fan of Rogue, this has changed my mind. There is a bit of a bitter aftertaste I can do without (grapefruit).
