3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 MoritzF (7137) - Bochum, GERMANY - FEB 16, 2009
(35.5cl bottle) Cloudy, bright orange to amber colour with a firm mid-sized and slightly tanned foamy head. Apricot and lemon fruity and slightly woody hoppy aroma with a mildly sweet malty background. Moderately bitter flavour, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Solid malty base with lemon- and grape-fruity, slightly woody hoppy notes, lingering into the dry and aromatic (not brutally) bitter finish with licorice and nettle-like spices in the aftertaste (16.II.09).

s- Wow, what a great blend of hops and pine scents, really impressive aroma that is not too overwhelming
t- Taste too is dominated by pine and citrus flavored hops, some sweet malts in the background as well, slight warming alcohol presence
m- full-bodied with light carbonation, smooth dry finish
d- Solid ESB that is not too high on the abv, i could definitely spend a night drinking this beer

Very tasty, loved the hoppy aroma and flavor. One of my favorites from Rogue. Easy to drink and need to be careful since it can sneek up on you.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 timfoolery (595) - California, USA - FEB 1, 2009
Bottle from DTM. Rogue uses a lot of hops in all of their beers, so it is not surprising that this one came across more like a pale IPA. It did not taste like others in the genre, such as the Fullers of the world, which is to say more traditional and tame. Very good brew.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 joshwilfong (1200) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - FEB 1, 2009
on cask. light brown with huge white head. some crystal malt comes through, but a lot of hop flavor, a little too much for the style in my opinion. a well crafted beer, but i thought it would benefit from increased hop bitterness and a little more malt balance
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 HonkeyBra (2217) - Lemont, Illinois, USA - FEB 1, 2009
Orange pour with a big hoppy aroma mixed with some sweet, spicey malt. Flavor is bitter, but a nice, flavorful bitterness, balanced by the caramel spicy malt. Very smooth. Seems like a great session ale.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Borresteijn (2596) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - JAN 29, 2009
355ml Bottle from Cracked Kettle. Hazy orange amber colour, thick yellow-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, buttery toffee, malts and pepper. Flavour is toffee, malts and a bit of nuts first, some spicy hops, then a nice grapefruit bitter finish. Medium bodied and a bit creamy mouthfeel. Instead of Brutal very smooth and easy drinking. I like that!
