The_Jester (493), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Mar 11, 2008 650 mL bottle from the LCBO. (The malts listed on the bottle don’t quite match those listed in the "Commercial Description" above.) Translucent amber-orange with a huge, thick, sticky beige head. The aroma is mostly hops: fresh sweet citrus and a little earthiness. Some cara-malt in there as well. The hops are there in the flavour as well, with slightly tangier citrus and pine being the most obvious flavours. There is enough malt here to keep this from swinging into IPA territory. Nice bitterness at the end. Medium body and carbonation. Not bad. An American take on the premium bitter.
Whiskeyjack (2), , Massachusetts, USA does not count Sep 4, 2008 Aroma of moderate roasted malts with hoppy citrus notes. Pours with a full light brown head, the beer itself is orange/amber with a degree of haze to it. It is moderately bitter but not as much as expected from the name, also a bit of sweetness as well. A tasty beverage with a medium to full body. dwaggs2 (93), Warrensburg, Missouri, USA Sep 2, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy orange color with a decent white head. Aroma is pine and citrus. Flavor is bitter and hoppy. Very sweet on the palate. Get ESB style beer. KyotoLefty (110), Kyoto, Japan Sep 1, 2008 On tap at McGloughlin’s in Kyoto. Aromatic and balanced aroma of hops and caramel malt. the flavor follows it right up. Pine, citrus, fruit. No surprises, just a perfectly done premium bitter. Great on tap. DerBiermeister (374), Birmingham, Alabama, USA Aug 31, 2008 This beer is good quality, but not the best Rogue beer. I enjoyed it but I think I would probably prefer the Dead Guy Ale. All in all, a hefty brew with an attibrewed.
