Commercial Description:
Brutal combines Oregon hops with English Malts. The Oregon grown Crystal hop is a triploid variety developed from the German Hallertau aroma hop variety with contributions from Cascade, Brewers Gold, and Early Green. Crystal is the only hop used in brewing Brutal and it provides a massive amount of aroma without dry-hopping. The English malts used are floor malted Pipkin (a mellow cross of Maris Otter and Warboys, from an English company called Beeston), Cara Vienna and Cara Wheat.

I wish they stocked more of this at the LCBO when they released it. I was late, but Mondy got a bunch. I drank a few too many of his on my birthday and he wasn’t having it. I poured it into the wrong glasswear and still enjoyed every last drop. It was around the time I began to discover American craft beer, and darnit was is good

hoppy aroma, and pours out orangish with a thin white head that disappears quickly. To me this tasted like a cross between an IPA and Rogue Dead Guy Ale- citrusy with a hoppy bitter finish. Not as "brutal" as I had prepared for. Flavor is somewhat watery towards the end.

Pours a rich amber with a thin white head. Aroma is sufficiently hoppy and very earthy, but offers a hint of unexpected citrusy sweetness. Malt taste is dry and hay-like just like I like it. Hops are the dominant taste in this beer, as they should be, and offer a sustained, citrusy bitter aftertaste. Wood flavor sustains from aroma through aftertaste. A great beer to rate for my first rating on here.

12oz bottle at di Parma, on the beach in San Juan. Golden translucent color with nice tan head. Slightly sweet malt aroma with citrus and hoppy bitter. Grapefruit, slightly sweet malt flavor with strong bitter character. Nice lingering bitter.

Deep citrus hop aroma, good creamy head. Flavour is abundant with citrus American hop flavour and a really nice malt balance. Very drinkable beer that I could enjoy pint after pint of, sadly I only had one bottle. This is a very good beer, well brewed and very drinkable.

fairly drinkable session beer, maybe a perfect beer with a bad hop choice.
