3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at John B Pub in Coquitlam. A reddish amber beer with moderate white head. This is one those amazingly balanced beers that present big hops and big malts about equally. Nice! 3.9

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Cloudy amber pour with a small off-white head. Aroma is citrus and tropical fruit with a touch of caramel. Taste is odd - bitter up front, some light citrus zest but also medicinal and herbal, not much sweetness. A bit disappointed - perhaps it's the 3 months of age on this bottle, but it's just not great.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Hazy orange amber with a decent head. Aroma is resinous, grapefruit, lychee, onion and grass. Light malty sweetness, herbs, lemon peel, guyava, grapefruit and piney notes, strong bitterness. Relatively light bodied, a bit watery, but quite drinkable. Nice.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tapped out gold amber. 8ºSRM.
Nose has some nice spicy pine-y aroma notes. Maybe even some table grape fruitiness and sweetness in the nose. There are also some pleasant ripe peach, plum aromas. I can’t help finding the spice which is more like basil but a little more aggressive and maybe Thai basil.
Mouthfeel is soapy. Palate has toasty malt flavors with graham cracker, honey comb, multigrain toast, cracked barley bread.
Hops are pine, resin, vegetal, spicy with cilantro, basil, mint.
Overall, good, but given the IPAs that I’ve had, not "list worthy"

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
650ml bottle at home in Richmond as ’Rogue Nation Brutal India Pale Ale’, undated, no ABV details. Vibrant opaque dark orange, hazy, foamy off-white head. Looks the part. Aroma is potpourri, candied lemon, dried out air freshener. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is sweet caramelly sugars, flowery, card, light milky coffee dimension, grassy finish. Everything is overpowered by the caramel vibe. It’s OK. A bottle of Boon Mariage Parfait was sat alongside this at the shop, and £3 cheaper. Sometimes ticking isn’t the answer!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
355 ml bottle bought at The Q-Club in SoHo, Central.
Looks: Translucent golden orange colour with a ring of dirt-like yeast particles; Razor-thin head and residual white foam which fades in 10 seconds; Very small sticky lacing with quite fizzy small carbonation.
Aroma: Very fragrant and sweet Ale malt, with strong orange, strong floral, honey, marmalade, pine, citrus and yeast.
Taste: Strong sweet Ale malt, with strong citrus peels, marmalade, caramel, carbo, strong molasses, strong resins, biscuits, light yeast, strong lemon, very strong bitter hops and sharp grass.
Body: Medium body. Thick and oozy palate.
Mouth Feel: Very good Ale maltyness in a rich and very slick background. Quite strong caramel followed by a combo of strong jammy fruit peels and almost syrupy honey sweetness, but well balanced by strong resin ooze and fair pine. Fair biscuit and strong lemon to round. Immense and very pleasant!
Hoppiness: Strong orange, strong floral, jam, pine and citrus in nose. Strong citrus peels, marmalade, strong resins, strong lemon and strong grass in taste; Bitterness is very strong for a lasting, very high astringent sweet-bitter finish.
After Taste: Fairly dry. Sweet oozy and strong bitter to mouth.
Comments: Brutal? This one? Not really. Intense is a better word: Poor head aside, just about every aspect is strong and impressive, from bright colours, jammy aroma, sweet oozy taste, and strong lemony hoppiness. The sweet bitter combination are polar opposites but work just fine. Just love that orangey fruityness. A joy!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Slight haze develops on the pour. The flavors of subtle citrus, rich malt and floral hop match the aromas. Very nice amount of bitterness on the finish. I’ll definitely drink this again.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Big 2" fluffy off white head... sits atop a only slightly hazy golden orange brew.
Awesome grapefruity aroma... some fruity esters... only the slightest smell of pale malts.
Nice low/medium mouthfeel.... relatively low carbonation... larger than average bitterness... with mouthcoating oily citrus hops... enough malts to balance
