COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brutal combines Oregon hops with English Malts. The Oregon grown Crystal hop is a triploid variety developed from the German Hallertau aroma hop variety with contributions from Cascade, Brewers Gold, and Early Green. Crystal is the only hop used in brewing Brutal and it provides a massive amount of aroma without dry-hopping. The English malts used are floor malted Pipkin (a mellow cross of Maris Otter and Warboys, from an English company called Beeston), Cara Vienna and Cara Wheat.

Pours orange with white lacing. Big hops aroma with citrus. The hops are so well crafted, belies the name. Nice finish

Draught @ NYC Craft Ber Festival. Cloudy pale yellow with small off-white foamy head, doughy aroma, citrus peel taste, low carbonation, long hoppy finish. Not a great IPA.

Murky orange beer with little off-white head. Aroma and flavor have cream fudge, caramel, resin, peach and some catpee. Does not seem very fresh. Palate is full with moderate carbonation. Finish has quite heavy bitterness. Aftertaste is caramelly and fruity with stinging catpee like bitter taste. I’m sure this would be better when it was fresh.

Hazy orange body, medium sized white head, and soapy lacing. Papaya, grapefruit, orange rind, mild sweet perfumey malts. Medium bodied with moderate to gentle carbonation, semi-dry throughout, moderate bitterness, clean finish.

Tap from Stone's (hop leaf anniversary). Orange cloudy pour. Aroma is super biscuity. Taste is very very bready malty - piercing orange hops though. Bitter finish. Not bad.

CacheManyHose (328) - HONG KONG - MAR 8, 2015
Draught at Stone's. Very cloudy (almost opaque) bright orange-brown. Smells of woodsy hop and caramel malt, toffee, bread. Tastes of earthy piney woodsiness, orange, caramel malt. Very malt forward but goos mix of maltiness and hoppiness, very orange-y, fresh tasting.
