COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brutal combines Oregon hops with English Malts. The Oregon grown Crystal hop is a triploid variety developed from the German Hallertau aroma hop variety with contributions from Cascade, Brewers Gold, and Early Green. Crystal is the only hop used in brewing Brutal and it provides a massive amount of aroma without dry-hopping. The English malts used are floor malted Pipkin (a mellow cross of Maris Otter and Warboys, from an English company called Beeston), Cara Vienna and Cara Wheat.

Drank at a local liquor store tasting. Pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma is hops, pine, resin, and citrus. Tastes of tropical fruit, citrus, honey, and bread. Medium bodied beer with a moderate amount of carbonation and a sticky mouth feel. Does not end with a harsh bitterness and sweet on the tip of the tongue. Nice beer

Has everyone on RB rated this before me. Ah, that’s okay. Here’s my take on it. IPA deserves a straight up pint glass, ha ha, hmmmmmm....let’s do this. The appearance was a slight burnt orange to brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There was some light lacing here and there all around and just glazing the glass in a nice adequate fashion. The smell had a light orange to glazed over tangerine sort of light and somewhat leading apricot to mango citrus wonderful aroma. The taste was mainly sweet but still had a light decent bitterness that ended up having a slight bitter hoppiness all around. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was there but still had a slight harshness but was still good for the most part. Overall, pretty good beer to have again.

Clear amber. Off-white creamy head. Spicy and hoppy nose: pepper, orange, vanilla. Lovely. Moderately bitter, moderately sweet - bit harsh on the bitterness. Lovely, well balanced, but not overwhelming.

On tap at rogue embassy in SF. Pale, cloudy amber. Minimal white head. Smell is floral, citrus, pine. Taste is sweet, tart, finishes floral. Lots of floral flavor here, not much bitterness. Creamy and soft on palate. Good stuff.

Poured from a 22oz into a small goblet with a light foamy head (that quickly dissipated). Light and mellow citrus aroma with sweet malty backbone. Drinks with medium carbonation and a medium body. Smoothly bittersweet with burnt sugar notes. Mild bitterness lingers but not much. I'd come back for another. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is a great Oregon IPA. Poured out of a 22oz bottle. Great aroma and perfect appearance. Smooth taste with just enough of a piney finish that isn't over powering, though it does last on the palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Mooie oranje kleur met een volle kraag. Ruikt honing, hop, kruiden en fruitig. Smaakt bitterzoet, honing, kruiden en iets fruitig.
