TASTING NOTES: A non-traditional India Pale Ale with big citrusy, hop flavor and intense hop aroma. Medium-bodied with a vibrant lingering hop-bitterness that is anything but brutal. Enjoy!

Pours hazy amber with a frothy head. Aroma is very piney and resinous, loads of pacific hops in this one. Also rather refreshing feel to it. Flavour is dominated by bitter resin and pine, also some grapefruit. Some herbal flavours. Very bitter and extremely resinous aftertaste. Brutal for its use of pacific hops I guess. Nice.

Bottle from LCBO. Alc 6.2%. Pours rather murky amber with creamy white head. Aroma of jammy oranges, sweetmalts, citrusy zest, resiny pine... A bit caramelly even? Rather good, albeit restrained compared with the more modern hop-bomb IPA-s. But I do appreciate the old-school restraint. Tastes fruity sweet with orangey bitter continuation and more piney finish. Mellow! Moderately prickly carbonation and medium body; nicely resinous, lingering bitter finish. I’m not a big fan but I do like an old-school US-style IPA once in a while.

Rogue Nation Brutal India Pale Ale -- what’s not to like? Hazy yellow pour with an decent white head. Intoxicating aroma of citrus fruit and pine. Taste is more to the same citrusy and just enough pine to make it interesting but no bitter bite. Brutal is a well-balanced delicious IPA!

Okay head, carbonated fruit juice body. Good heavy fruity hops aroma with sharp hints. Good hops notes, some nutty hints. Well balanced, drinkable, amongst the pack and you’d prolly drink it if you’re local but wouldn’t sell your house to go find the thing. (Yes - I’ve found beers like that. And I miss that house).

Bottle from Whole Foods. Been saving this for a while, £10 a bottle! Very nice. I was expecting more hop bitterness, overall nicely balanced and easy drinking strength. Don't usually rant about hop smells as I find it pretentious but... this one (to me) smells like Rhubarb & Custard sweets. Lush. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
