Brutal combines Oregon hops with English Malts. The Oregon grown Crystal hop is a triploid variety developed from the German Hallertau aroma hop variety with contributions from Cascade, Brewers Gold, and Early Green. Crystal is the only hop used in brewing Brutal and it provides a massive amount of aroma without dry-hopping. The English malts used are floor malted Pipkin (a mellow cross of Maris Otter and Warboys, from an English company called Beeston), Cara Vienna and Cara Wheat.

Really solid IPA, smells great, taste is excellent, perfect amount of hops and malt, yeast is also noticeable, but a very pure and easy drinking IPA.

from tap. Very drinkable IPa, but also very simple and far from complex. Citrus, hops, grapefruit. Not really superbitter. Balanced but nothing brutal about this beer. OK but very average.

Teku, nonic glass. Appearance is orange, gold, hazy with average head and low lacing. Nose is fresh, mainly citrus, little floral notes (orange), some yeasty notes - dough, bread. Taste is very refreshing, ideal for warm/summer season. Light to medium bitterness, light to medium sweet. The alcohol, malt and hops are very balanced. Very smooth citrus taste with some floral notes. Light to medium body, thin texture, average carbonation. Bitter finish. In overall very good, balanced, refreshing and drinkable IPA.

Poured from 22 oz. bottle. Hazy, orangish amber with 3-finger billowing cream-colored head and very good lacing. Fairly mild aroma of citrus of caramel and pine. Taste of lemon, tangerine, caramel, pineapple and touch of cloves. Medium body and medium carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma is slight grapefruit, slight caramel. Not impressed. Taste is wow. Grapefruit bitterness, citrus, lots of caramelized malt, alcohol is hidden well. Palate is wrecked from an IPA. Well Done.

Aroma starts when beer hits the glass from the bottle. Nice IPA that stays ahead of the curve in all aspects of the experience. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A very average tasting IPA. Nothing special not bad & not that tasty either. This IPA has a flat bitter finish.
