COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brutal combines Oregon hops with English Malts. The Oregon grown Crystal hop is a triploid variety developed from the German Hallertau aroma hop variety with contributions from Cascade, Brewers Gold, and Early Green. Crystal is the only hop used in brewing Brutal and it provides a massive amount of aroma without dry-hopping. The English malts used are floor malted Pipkin (a mellow cross of Maris Otter and Warboys, from an English company called Beeston), Cara Vienna and Cara Wheat.

A fantastic IPA! All Rogue IPA’s are really great - color is orange with slight red-ish tint. Taste is grapefruit citrus, very hoppy - it is the perfect Spring IPA, not too heavy with a long aftertaste. Love it.

Soft amber pour, no real head. Nose is woody hops and malt. Bitter. Middle is soft fruit and malt interplay...subtle. Finish is solid, but restrained, hop bitterness. Not brutal, just delicious.

Bottle from Drinkmonger. Hazy amber body with a thin off-white head. Lively carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of caramel, green apple and orange. Flavour of sweet tangerine, menthol and pine needles. Medium body with an oily texture. Soft fizz. Unlike the name suggests, this is quite a restrained IPA that’s high on drinkability.

330ml bottle, pours hazy bronze gold, with a foamy lasting white head. Aroma is malty, caramel and toffee, lightly hoppy, fruity and floral notes. Body is medium, texture is lightly oily, finish is long, bitter and dry.

Great reddish orange hue and dirty IPA and nice and balanced. Very nice beer indeed.

660ml bottle & keg @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours a deep amber with large white head. Sweet malt aroma. Taste follows with a sticky resin presence and pine. Some orange rind and caramel. Flavoursome and easy-drinking.

65cl bottle at cerveteca bar in Lisbon. It pours a bronze colour with a decent beige head that lasts. Aroma is green mango, hops, citrus and some bready notes. Flavour is slightly piney and citruisy, some malts and bread and an expected hoppy bitterness at the end. It has a low to medium body with light carbonation and a crispy feel. It’s a standard IPA, but I expected more flavour and richer aromas.

Solid India Pale Ale. A little malty. Hops a good blend of bitter and floral. Looks great too.

Tap. Pours a hazy golden with a layer of creamy head. Aroma and taste of pretty intense hops upfront mixed with some bread malts.

Rogue Brutal IPA has a thin, white head, narrow lacing, and a murky, orange appearance, with lots of tan, powdery sediment suspended throughout. The aroma is fruity (mango?), with a white bread note. Taste is the same, with mild bitterness and slightly-turned fruit. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and this beer finishes somewhat like a lager in its crispness. A tart ale. RJT

A cloudy orange amber color. The aroma is minimal but fruity. The taste is, well... Meh. Overall a beer I wouldn't buy again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
