22 oz MOrimoto Soba Ale, split/courtesy of Naka. Pours Golden w/ amber hues, however so light. Small white head that’s quickly dissipating. Where the hell does the smell come from? Coffe and chocolate, espresso. Taste is crazy; chocolate w/ a hint of coffee and nutty. Awesome thin, light mouthfeel, oily and viscous (I know, conradictory: Really good "ale". Mild hop bitterness at the end, supdued at the end by the graininess. Very good beer.

Bottle. Labeled as Morimoto Soba Ale. We tried this ale because we like watching the Iron Chef and have enjoyed other Rogue beers before. Very light in flavor, but deep on nutty flavor. You can smell the roasted soba before the first sip. Yet the initial taste is quite light. Finished with a "miso" flavor. Would highly recommend this ale with lighter, fresh Korean and Japanese foods.

(Bottle, as Morimoto Soba Ale). Mild, malty aroma. Cloudy orange body, small off-white head. Unusual flavor of malt, buckwheat, some citrus notes. Very different and pleasant.

Bomber at Jerry’s. Cloudy amber with good, foamy off-white head / Sour malt nose / Medium body, malty, with good, smooth, lightly-hopped finish / Flavors of buckwheat (soba), roast nuts, caramel, and lemon / A distinctive, easy drinking amber ale.
