Bottled. An amber beer with huge tan head. The aroma has strong notes of NW hops, lending it notes of grapefruit, combined with notes of nuts, caramel, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, nuts, and caramel to start off making it almost chewy, but then the hops sets in with notes of grapefruit and grass, and making to finish very bitter.

Pours a brownish amber with a big foamy persistent off-white head. Nose is floral with hints of baking bread or biscuits. Rich flavor with distinct wood/pine notes as well as notes of caramel, chocolate, and coffee. Classic coffee-like American IPA bitter finish.

Bottle 650ml.
Unclear medium amber color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, caramel, nutty, chocolate notes, moderate to light heavy hoppy, grapefruity, citrus - orange, soap notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration, a peppery and dry finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090725]

Hazy deep copper body with a light colored khaki head. The nose has lots of oranges with some notes of light bread crust. There is also a little bit of fresh floral goodness. The taste has some bitter grapefruit up front that is tempered with some notes of burnt up bread crust. There is also an earthy, nearly coffee finish. It could be pleasing to those that want a real west coast hop bomb. I would like a little more sweet to balance the package.

Really great and special. Had a glass at Rattle n Hum in NYC. Pours a rich amber brown with a medium head. Nose of sweet malts and mild hops. Flavor is a nice balance of heavy bitterness from the hops and slight sweet maltiness. Finish has mild bite and aftertaste is nice. Would have again.
